(Noah) 15th July 2018 - Act City, Hamamatsu, event recap

Junta Miyawaki and Seiya Morohashi. Miyawaki will team with Morohashi as LEONA'S replacement.

It was announced on Saturday 14th July, that during training, LEONA had fractured his foot and would therefore have to pull out of Global Junior Tag League 2018. Fans wanted Junta Miyawaki to take his spot, and were delighted when President Uchida confirmed the fact today in Hamamatsu. 

This will be Junta Miyawaki's first time in competing in a league, so Morohashi (and most likely Hajime Ohara also, who seems to have taken him under his wing), will need to guide the boy somewhat. Noah have a knack of injuries turning out well for the other party - i.e. Kenoh with Sugiura, Jay Bradley with DJZ, so hopefully this will be the case here also. It has been almost a year since Miyawaki debuted. 

As this is Global Junior Tag League, the heavyweights are taking a smaller role on the card for this tour. Katsuhiko Nakajima manned the autograph booth, and Hitoshi Kumano manned the collection box for disaster relief for the mudslides and floods caused by torrential rain in Hiroshima.

I don't have much information about some matches, so some of the recap below may be little more than who won watch and how, but I have tried to gather as much information as I can although in some cases it has not been possible.

MATCH ONE
YO-HEY & HAYATA vs Maybach Taniguchi & Masao Inoue
Winner: YO-HEY with the Jacknife on Masao Inoue (9 minutes and 48 seconds)

MATCH TWO
Atsushi Kotoge vs Yoshinari Ogawa vs Ricky Marvin

Ricky Marvin (one of Noah's gaijin veterans from "The Golden Era") made his return to Noah after three years today.

The highlight of this match was Atsushi Kotoge. Not anything that Kotoge did in it, but his cloak got caught and the button came pinging off, leading him to remark sadly "the cloak is broken". Fan responses ranged from the sympathetic ("sew the button back on") to telling him to sell the cloak at a charity auction.

Winner: Ricky Marvin with the body press on Yoshinari Ogawa (9 minutes and 18 seconds)

MATCH THREE
The Aggression (Katsuhiko Nakajima, Masa Kitamiya & Kenoh) vs Naomichi Marufuji, Akitoshi Saito & Mohammed Yone

After the match was finished, The Aggression tortured Marufuji and Saito.
Marufuji had the strapping back on the shoulder today (he wasn't wearing it for the BASARA show earlier in the week). He has had a history of degenerative cervical spiritual nerve root disease (which meant he was unable to move his right shoulder and had as a result to miss some time) in July 2010.

The match was said to feel even shorter than it was, but that The Aggression showed how powerful and forceful they are.

Winner: Kenoh with the diving footstamp on Mohammed Yone (7 minutes and 29 seconds)

The Backbreakers (Hajime Ohara & Hitoshi Kumano)

MATCH FOUR
The Backbreakers (Hajime Ohara & Hitoshi Kumano) vs Seiya Morohashi & Junta Miyawaki

After the match Hajime Ohara got on the microphone and told Miyawaki that today was the best fight he has ever had against him, but it is up to Miyawaki as to whether or not he decides to continue on like that.

Winner: Hajime Ohara with the Muy Bien on Junta Miyawaki ()

Takashi Sugiura facing off against Go Shiozaki, who has challenged him for the GHC Heavyweight Championship.

MATCH FIVE
GoKai (Go Shiozaki & Kaito Kiyomiya) vs Takashi Sugiura & Quiet Storm
Winner: Go Shiozaki with the lariat on Quiet Storm (16 minutes and 30 seconds)

MATCH SIX (Global Junior Tag League)
Hi69 & Minoru Tanaka vs Daisuke Harada & Tadasuke

Tadasuke got the win over one half of the reigning GHC Junior Tag Team champions, Minoru Tanaka, previously in the match Tanaka and Hi69 had attacked his arm.

Winner: Tadasuke with the Outcast on Minoru Tanaka (22 minutes and 12 seconds)

Attendance: 215 people.

Despite the attendance (which isn't bad even though it is not sold out), fans were very happy with today's show, and many people left saying that they were looking forward to seeing Noah again.
