(NOAH) Event recap - September 30th 2018, Ikos Ageo (Global Junior League Night 9)

Typhoon Trami is about to hit mainland Japan (a second typhoon is also expected), and as a result at the time of the event, transport systems were expected to be affected and roads flooded which makes travel difficult. Some promotions have cancelled their events, but Noah took the decision to still run theirs but fast-track it, they changed the card around so that the matches were in a quicker order, and offered refunds to anyone who couldn't attend the show due to the weather. In addition to this they announced there would not be an interval today. However, they did warn the crowd that if the weather got particularly bad, then they would have to cancel the show, even if it was half way through. Fortunately for Noah they didn't have to cancel anything, the show ran for under two hours and they had a very good turnout considering the circumstances.
It must have been round about this time last year when Noah had that horrific bus journey caused by inclement typhoon weather, fortunately this time they are not so far away from Tokyo (its about an hour on a good day).

So far the only person in The Hooligans to respond to Marufuji's picture of them, is KAZMA SAKAMOTO who just said sarcastically "This is a Masterpiece".
Naomichi Marufuji was absent today as he was competing in Kansai Pro Wrestling.

Kaito Kiyomiya was on autograph duty.

MATCH 1
Go Shiozaki, Kenoh, Atsushi Kotoge & Yoshiki Inamura vs The Hooligans (Maybach Taniguchu, Mitsuya Nagai, KAZMA SAKAMOTO & Cody Hall)

The Hooligans alternating around poor young inexperienced Yoshiki Inamura today, and naturally he took the fall.

WINNER: Maybach Taniguchi with the chokeslam on Yoshiki Inamura (9 minutes and 8 seconds)

MATCH 2
GLOBAL JUNIOR LEAGUE
Hi69 vs Junta Miyawaki

Very short match, which ended with Junta Miyawaki still without a win, and without a win in Global Junior League too. But, with the event looking to be an annual thing considering the popularity of this years, and Junta Miyawaki still being only very young, he has many years ahead of him to win it.

WINNER: Hi69 with the Michinoku driver β (2 minutes and 49 seconds)

MATCH 3
GLOBAL JUNIOR LEAGUE
Hajime Ohara vs Tadasuke

Sadly Hajime Ohara still having neck problems, which Tadasuke took advantage of, such as turning the Muy Bien into an armlock.

WINNER: Tadasuke with the 2 PAC (6 minutes and 54 seconds)

MATCH 4
GLOBAL JUNIOR LEAGUE
YO-HEY vs Ikuto Hidaka

Kotaro Suzuki stood and watched the match, as whoever won this would go on to face him at the Global Junior League finals. He was joined by Yoshinari Ogawa.
Suzuki is not part of Ogawa's "SPECIAL4" faction, but like Ogawa, he hates most of the Junior roster (plus RATELS, who Ogawa hates more than anyone else), and he says he has something planned for Korakuen, and an interesting "strategy meeting" with Ogawa in the after hours of a show.

YO-HEY was seen to be having some left knee problems, but that did not stop this from being a hard and emotional fight (some people were in tears) where both pulled everything out, and I was reminded of KENTA vs Naomichi Marufuji when they had an hour long match and everyone was on the edge of their seats to see how it would end.
Neither backed down and neither would submit, out came the beautiful Bamboo Dragonfly, the Shinken Capture, the Diving Facial G; YO-HEY with all his airborne moves, and Hidaka with all his ground and submission attacks.

In the final moments, YO-HEY was trapped in the Shinken Capture, but refused to submit. The time ran out, and YO-HEY was the victor and will therefore go on to face Kotaro Suzuki at the Global Junior League finals; he has two jobs, the first is to defeat Kotaro Suzuki, win the league and protect the honor of the Noah Juniors, and then challenge Daisuke Harada for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship. YO-HEY is the only one in RATELS who hasn't challenged.

Hidaka wasn't too pleased about the outcome, however, and protested to the referee who stood firm.

Although it won't be for Global Junior League, Hidaka and YO-HEY have promised each other another singles match. This match worked well despite the difference in styles.

WINNER: YO-HEY via 30 minute time draw

MATCH 5
Takashi Sugiura & 50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone and Quiet Storm) vs Katsuhiko Nakajima, Masa Kitamiya and Kaito Kiyomiya

Mohammed Yone has been given flowers as he has family in the area (he was born in Nagoya, but he may have grown up nearby).

Takashi Sugiura held up the belt to Katsuhiko Nakajima...and Nakajima kicked it!

Sugiura has finally had enough of Nakajima being smug, and kicked the complete crap out of him. He caught Nakajima with a surprise Olympic Slam, the ref counted three, and Sugiura continued battering him, until the ref pulled him off as he realized that Nakajima was knocked out.

Afterwards, Sugiura stood with HIS foot on Nakajima, until Nakajima was rolled out of the ring and borne away on the back of Noah's resident superhero, Atsushi Kotoge.

WINNER: Takashi Sugiura with the Olympic Slam on Katsuhiko Nakajima (8 minutes and 13 seconds)

MATCH 6
Takaki Iwasaki vs Masao Inoue vs Akitoshi Saito

The crowd were tired after the last two matches, so nothing much to remark aside from the fact that Masao Inoue stood by, watching the karate guys go at it

WINNER: Akitoshi Saito with the pin on Masao Inoue (7 minutes and 6 seconds)

MATCH 7
Daisuke Harada, HAYATA & Hitoshi Kumano vs Yoshinari Ogawa, Kotaro Suzuki & Seiya Morohashi

WINNER: HAYATA with the moonsault on Seiya Morohashi (11 minutes and 43 seconds)

After the match had ended, Daisuke Harada thanked everyone for coming out today and watching, on behalf of the company he wished everyone a safe trip home.

At the end of his speech today, Harada said "I look forward to seeing you all at Korakuen on the 4th October"
HAYATA: Same!

ATTENDANCE: 201 (very good considering the circumstances)

With thanks to: Shishido, Noah GHC, Hamarin, Kai
