On August 18th, Masa Kitamiya challenged Takashi Sugira for the GHC Championship at Karatsu Kawasaki, he will challenge at Korakuen Hall on September 2nd.
This is an interview with Masa Kitamiya who trains at the dojo prior to the decisive battle!

Q: On the 18th August, you put your name forward for the GHC.

KITAMITA: Because we (the Super New Generation Army) were almost destroyed by them, and we have to stand up. If you roll tails here*, it will all end. It was the case that someone had to confront Sugiura, but as an individual, Masa Kitamiya has captured the tag belts, and after they were taken I got an undescribable feeling that I cannot translate to you, so that day I made the challenge.

Q: This will be your third challenge for the GHC Heavyweight?

KITAMIYA: I think that anytime I am fighting at Noah I have to aim at it, and I think it will be a huge match. It is the goal I have set as a wrestler. I think the belt is symbolic, and it is very special.

Q: On the 25th August in Maebashi, you said "I know how strong the champion is now. I know that there is force. It is the priviledge of the youth to face any tough enemies"

KITAMIYA: I think it is done only by confrontation of the immense power, its easy when you have a partner. Beating the powerful Sugiura is meaningful, he is an opponent who has a lot. I would like to crush him.

Q: At the Maebashi event, you hit Sugiura with the side suplex?

KITAMIYA: I was thinking selfishly about using tricks, at the time I was surprised, and it came down to gut reaction, and it will be good in the match.

Q: The next day you took the three with the suplex?

KITAMIYA: It was just for him. He noticed it. (rough translation)

Q: What is your impression of the GHC Heavyweight champion, Takashi Sugiura?

KITAMIYA: No one admits that he is a flawless champion, I know that the support for him will be amazing and I should be cheered although I am a challenger. I don't know how the customer will lean on, I think it is amazing but regrettable. That is why I feel very strongly about it.

Q: Please give enthusiasm for the 2nd September for your match in Korakuen?

KITAMIYA: There has been a short span in a month and a half since defending. There have only been three pre-matches, and I have shown as much as I can during the short span. Go For Broke! I will crush the champion!
