(NOAH) Event recap ~ Global Junior Tag League, Night Two (30th May, Hiroshima Industry Hall West Exhibition Hall)

"Today was the best fun"

Noah returned to Hiroshima today for the second night of Global Junior Tag League 2019.

The scoreboard and winners trophies were placed in the lobby as per usual, but backstage the roster were treated to a Hiroshima specialty (as both Hitoshi Kumano and HAYATA are natives to the city, but these were left on behalf of Kumano) to pancakes called "Okonomiyaki".

Noah's Ark fanclub members were treated to special photo sessions with Katsuhiko Nakajima (who did a short session after the event) and\or Hitoshi Kumano and Chris Ridgeway, while Kaito Kiyomiya was on autograph duty.

I am afraid I don't have too much information coming out of the show today, so some parts will be more detailed than others.

MATCH ONE
Global Junior Tag League 2019
HAYATA & YO-HEY vs The Sugiura Army (Hajime Ohara & NOSAWA Rongai)

Hajime Ohara kept yelling "lung" as he attacked YO-HEY (who was said to be energetic today, but I think that the lung injury is taking more out of YO-HEY than is being admitted), and reversed the Super Facial G into a submission move. Afterwards, as both the referee and HAYATA bent over YO-HEY, touchingly HAYATA was seen to have his hand on YO-HEY'S left lung.

WINNER: Hajime Ohara with a neck lock on YO-HEY (10 minutes and 52 seconds)

MATCH TWO
Takashi Sugiura vs Yoshiki Inamura.

Inamura was seconded by both Atsushi Kotoge and Masa Kitamiya.
Takashi Sugiura also has no idea why it is that Inamura has shaved his eyebrows, with him wondering if it was Edo period style (when it was fashionable), but I guess there was little time for questions today as Inamura managed to last fifteen minutes with Sugiura, and refused to back down, struggling to his feet when knocked down by his hero.

WINNER: Takashi Sugiura with The Olympic Slam (15 minutes and 21 seconds)

MATCH THREE
Global Junior Tag League 2019
RATELS (Daisuke Harada & Tadasuke) vs Junta Miyawaki & Seiya Morohashi

WINNER: Tadasuke with the lariat on Junta Miyawaki (14 minutes and 10 seconds)

MATCH FOUR
Global Junior Tag League 2019
Stinger (Yoshinari Ogawa & Kotaro Suzuki) vs Hitoshi Kumano & Chris Ridgeway

WINNER: Kotaro Suzuki with the Tiger Driver on Hitoshi Kumano (16 minutes and 47 seconds)

MATCH FIVE
AXIZ (Katsuhiko Nakajima & Go Shiozaki) & 50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm) vs Naomichi Marufuji, Shuhei Taniguchi & The Return of The Dark Agents (Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue)

"Pandemonium"

While Nakajima was kicking Inoue around in the ring, a fight was going on outside of it between Shuhei Taniguchi and Go Shiozaki, Naomichi Marufuji decided to get involved (by most likely provoking the others, especially as he didn't take Hideki Suzuki's remark about Shiozaki being "Noah's strength" well), and it became a three man brawl. Taniguchi later posted on Twitter that the 9th June for Marufuji (vs Shiozaki) was just a warm up, he was ready and waiting for the 13th.

WINNER: Katsuhiko Nakajima with the Vertical Spike on Masao Inoue (22 minutes and 30 seconds)

MATCH SIX
Kaito Kiyomiya, Hi69 & Minoru Tanaka vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Masa Kitamiya & Atsushi Kotoge).

Despite the fact that Kenoh has not challenged him for the GHC Heavyweight title, Kiyomiya crossed the ring upon his name being called on entry, and held the belt up to him.

WINNER: Kenoh with the diving footstamp on Hi69 (15 minutes and 59 seconds)

After shrieking at Kiyomiya and then LIDET (in a promo that some fans couldn't hear because either the microphone was faulty or because Kenoh wasn't speaking clearly), Kenoh and the others in Kongoh also made their way to the back, where they did their pose before going backstage.

Hiroshima (especially this time of year late May, approaching early June) is never easy for Noah given what happened in the city (but not at this venue) in June 2009 when Mitsuharu Misawa died, and for the three principle people involved in that terrible evening (Akitoshi Saito, Go Shiozaki and Senior Referee Shu Nishinaga), its very hard. Yoshinari Ogawa refused to answer a question about Misawa in the post match interview (he refuses to speak about him), and on leaving after the ring crew had packed everything up into the van, Senior Referee Shu Nishinaga put his hands together in prayer and paused for a moment.
The Hiroshima Prefectural Sports Center, where the tragedy happened, will hold a flower altar for Misawa from June 13th to what would have been his 57th birthday on June 18th.
