(NOAH) CARD ~ HIGHER GROUND 2021 (10th January, Korakuen Hall)

With the spread of the Coronavirus, Tokyo City Council have announced that all businesses must cease operations by 8pm, Noah will be holding the majority of their shows in the afternoon for the foreseeable future so as to abide by curfew rules. Crowd attended shows are still permitted (for now) with precautions taken i.e. temperature checks at the door, a health questionnaire, social distancing, masks, and the frustrating (but necessary) ban on cheering. Today's show will start at 11.30am JST, and be broadcast live on WrestleUniverse. The stream will not be free, and you must be a subscriber to view.

MATCH ONE
FULL THROTTLE (YO-HEY & SEIKI YOSHIOKA) vs Yasutaka Yano & Kai Fujimura

With their "Leader" (tired looking dad, Hajime Ohara) engaged elsewhere tonight, the kids get to play with Yasutaka Yano and Kai Fujimura unsupervised.

MATCH TWO
Mohammed Yone & Shuhei Taniguchi vs Yoshiki Inamura & Kinya Okada

Mohammed Yone and Shuhei Taniguchi make their second outing as a tag team, their opponents might not be as experienced as their last opponents, Akitoshi Saito and Shiro Koshinaka, and I doubt there will be a beat down after the match from them, but they are young and hungry for victory, and that will make them dangerous.

MATCH THREE
Momo No Seishun (Atsushi Kotoge & Junta Miyawaki) & Daiki Inaba vs Kotaro Suzuki, Ikuto Hidaka & NOSAWA Rongai

FYI, Kotaro and Hidaka aren't members of The Sugiura Army, this is kind of NOSAWA'S separate side project. Since Kaz Hayashi left, The Sugiura Army have concentrated more on the heavyweight division, and NOSAWA is the only junior. No STINGER in this match for him to mess with, but Yoshinari Ogawa may well give him a taste of his own medicine.

MATCH FOUR
STINGER (Yoshinari Ogawa, HAYATA & Yuya Susumu) vs The Kongoh Juniors (Haoh, Nioh and Tadasuke)

First and only pre-match between STINGER & The Kongoh Juniors (Haoh and Nioh) before the title match on the 16th, and a clash of the former RATELS, HAYATA and Tadasuke. Hopefully NOSAWA will stay out of the match, although that does depend on Yoshinari Ogawa beforehand.

MATCH FIVE
GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship

If there is one thing that Noah fans anticipate, then it's Daisuke Harada vs Hajime Ohara. Noah know how much fans love it, and so they keep their singles matches, and indeed their tag matches, to a minimum. Harada has called Ohara his "rival" and said there is no one in the Noah juniors who can use up more of his stamina than Hajime Ohara. Whoever wins the match will have the control over the constantly warring Noah juniors, Harada is looking to create a new one, Ohara to pacify them.

MATCH SIX
New Year Tokyo Special Match
Noah (Go Shiozaki, Takashi Sugiura, Naomichi Marufuji & Kaito Kiyomiya) vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Masa Kitamiya & Manabu Soya)

Throughout January Noah are running these "New Year Special" matches as main events in Tokyo, Yokohama and Osaka, with Go Shiozaki and Naomichi Marufuji (who worked well as a tag team) teaming with either just each other, or being joined by Takashi Sugiura.
Today they take on everyone's enemy, Kongoh, and I am wondering if we are going to see a challenge for the heavyweight tag titles by either Katsuhiko Nakajima and Masa Kitamiya (THE AGGRESSION) or Masa Kitamiya and Manabu Soya. In my mind after seeing Manabu Soya's reaction to Daiki Inaba at the last Korakuen, this may be the catalyst he needs to leave Kongoh.
