(NOAH) EVENT RECAP: SUNNY VOYAGE 2023 (Kumamoto Castle Hall Civic Hall, Kumamoto, Friday October 27th)

Noah celebrated two birthdays today; Masa Kitamiya turned 35 (which his opponents/partners seemed to care about) and Eita, who turned 32, (of whom neither his partner or his opponents seemed to care about). Go Shiozaki, Daiki Inaba and Seiki Yoshioka, whose farewell to his hometown this was before he takes a short break, came home to Kumamoto, and while Kumamon didn't turn up sadly, Naomichi Marufuji wore a small Kumamon hairband.

Today's event was not streamed live, but you will be able to watch it on WrestleUniverse on the 1st November from 18:00 JST. You must be a subscriber to view.

MATCH ONE
Hajime Ohara & Kai Fujimura vs Taishi Ozawa & Yu Owada
Winner: Kai Fujimura with a Swan Dive Elbow attack on Yu Owada (7 minutes, 36 seconds)
(This is a new finisher for Fujimura)

MATCH TWO
Ninja Mack, Alejandro and TERRY YAKI vs Atsushi Kotoge, Hi69 & Xtreme Tiger

I can imagine what this match was like, and during it, Ninja Mack pulled out something like a Phoenix Senton apparently.

Winner: Ninja Mack with the Ninja Bomb on Hi69 (11 minutes, 23 seconds)

Backstage, Ninja Mack said that when the Lucha brothers (Dragon Bane and Alpha Wolf) defend the titles, he wants a rematch with Alejandro as his partner.

MATCH THREE
Takashi Sugiura & Funky Express (Mohammed Yone & Akitoshi Saito) vs REAL (Hideki Suzuki, Saxon Huxley & Shuhei Taniguchi)
Winner: Saxon Huxley with the Neck Hanging Bomb on Akitoshi Saito (8 minutes, 17 seconds)

REAL celebrated in usual fashion, with their rugby huddle at the end, and then Shuhei Taniguchi parading backstage followed by another three man bounce.

MATCH FOUR
Manabu Soya & Daiki Inaba vs Masa Kitamiya & Junta Miyawaki

Manabu Soya wished Masa Kitamiya, a happy birthday while chopping him, Kitamiya responded with "Thank you".

Winner: Daiki Inaba with the DDD on Junta Miyawaki (12 minutes, 48 seconds)

MATCH FIVE
El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr, Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa vs Good Looking Guys (Jack Morris, Anthony Green & LJ Cleary)
Winner: Anthony Greene defeated Ryohei Oiwa with the M-83 (13 minutes, 59 seconds)

MATCH SIX
HAYATA & Eita vs STINGER (Daga & Yoshinari Ogawa)

Furious from yesterday, HAYATA attacked Daga before the bell, but Daga being Daga, got the match thrown out again by making the referee think that HAYATA had kicked him in the crotch. Eita really did get kicked in the crotch (probably by Yoshinari Ogawa) and was thrown into the ring post outside the ring. Happy Birthday.

Winner: Daga (11 minutes, 58 seconds)

HAYATA responded by throwing the referee out of the ring, and then giving Daga the 403 Impact and shoving the belt in his face, apparently he said to him (in his habitual Osaka dialect) that he wasn't going to win this belt by being petty. Backstage, once again Daga said that he was smarter than HAYATA as he had outwitted him again, while HAYATA repeated what he had said in the ring.

MATCH SEVEN
Good Looking Guys (Jake Lee, YO-HEY & Tadasuke) vs Kenoh, Dragon Bane and Alpha Wolf
Winner: Kenoh with the PFS on Tadasuke (13 minutes, 10 seconds)

Kenoh stood trampling Tadasuke underfoot after the match when having an exchange with Jake, who he also had provoked by doing his pistol pose. Afterwards, he got on the mic and said;

"Jake, can you take the helm of Noah, and take Noah to a place where you can see a spectacular view? I'll wrap the GHC Heavyweight, and take Noah to the top with a spectacular view! Hey! tomorrow, on that historic day of departure, I'll do it"

Backstage, Kenoh somewhat repeated what he had said in the ring, but chose to throw in, "Hey, now that I think about it, there was someone who left Noah in search of a spectacular view." Which is of course a none too subtle reference to Katsuhiko Nakajima.

MATCH EIGHT
Seiki Yoshioka's 15th anniversary debut match
Go Shiozaki & Seiki Yoshioka vs Naomichi Marufuji & Shuji Kondo
Winner: Shuji Kondo with the King Kong lariat on Seiki Yoshioka (17 minutes, 13 seconds)

Go Shiozaki handed the microphone to Seiki Yoshioka;

"Respected Marufuji-san and Kondo-san, thank you for your support. I would like to thank Shiozaki-san, who has always loved and supported me, since before I came to Noah. And, on this 15th anniversary, I would like to thank everyone who came to see me at Kumamoto Castle Hall. I've been doing my best as a professional wrestler for 15 years, and I'm going to take a little break, but I'd like to come back to this ring and give it my all, so I'd appreciate your continued support when I do. Thank you for today!"

Backstage, Yoshioka expanded a little more on his decision to take a break. He intimated that he hadn't decided what he was going to do yet though, so it may be that he is just taking a break after the past fifteen years. Tomorrow in Fukuoka will be his official last match in Noah for the rest of the year, or perhaps, the time being should he not come back in 2024.

Attendance: 434
With thanks to: puroresutaku & Kei
