(NOAH) EVENT RECAP: SUNNY VOYAGE 2024 (Osaka Edion Arena Osaka 2nd Stadium, Sunday January 28th)

Today's event will be put on WrestleUniverse from 18:00 JST on the 31st January. You must be a subscriber to view. As only half of the semi main and the main event itself (and aftermath) was streamed on YouTube, I don't have too much information. You can watch part of the semi main, the main event and the subsequent title challenge on Noah's official YouTube, but I don't know for how long it will be there.

MATCH ONE
Shuhei Taniguchi vs Yu Owada
Winner: Shuhei Taniguchi with the Wyvern Clutch (6 minutes, 4 seconds)

MATCH TWO
Good Looking Guys (Jake Lee, Jack Morris, Anthony Green & LJ Cleary) vs Los Golpeadores (Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf), Ninja Mack & Alejandro

One fan said that since Jake's entry was so aristocratic, they thought the trainee looked like a servant. In the ring, Ninja Mack started the match against Jake, but had to enlist Alejandro's help. Anthony Green pointedly told the challengers for the GHC Heavyweight Tag, that "You guys are just juniors".

Winner: Alpha Wolf with the Wolf Driver on LJ Cleary (12 minutes, 42 seconds)

MATCH THREE
Naomichi Marufuji, Takashi Sugiura & Ulka Sasaki vs Manabu Soya, Masa Kitamiya & Daiki Inaba
Winner: Ulka Sasaki with a Triangle Choke on Daiki Inaba (18 minutes, 5 seconds)

By the time Ulka won, the match was running down with two minutes left. Instead of letting this go to his head, backstage he praised Takashi Sugiura for helping him, and said he would continue to listen to his advice.

MATCH FOUR
Yoshinari Ogawa vs Ryohei Oiwa
Winner: Yoshinari Ogawa with the Figure Four (12 minutes, 39 seconds)

MATCH FIVE
Kenoh & Hajime Ohara vs El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr & Daga

This was a chaotic match which saw Kenoh mocking El Hijo Del Dr Wagner's pose, even when outside the ring (Wagner apparently had done the same to him). Due to the brawl outside (I think this was Wagner and Kenoh) G-MAN got taken out at one point.

Winner: Kenoh due to referee stop with the Kenoh Special on El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr (17 minutes, 35 seconds)

Kenoh spoke on the mic after the match. While El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr was arguing with the referee about the match being stopped, Kenoh got on the mic and asked why Wagner was attacking the ref. Was he that scared of losing? Today was Kenoh's win, and then he said "Tranquillo...don't mess with me!". It should be noted that while "Tranquillo" means something like "calm down" in Spanish, the word also refers to Tetsuya Naito, whose catchphrase "don't mess with me", this apparently is. Kenoh has been gunning for Naito as Naito won the MVP award (in Kenoh's mind for doing nothing, simply because he's popular), an award that Kenoh wanted. Backstage, Kenoh once again repeated this phrase, while Ohara and Daga spoke about the three minutes that Daga is saying he will defeat Hajime Ohara in when it comes to the title match in Sendai. Daga said he will crush Ohara, while Ohara (bored of Daga's bragging) hinted that perhaps he now had Daga's weakness figured out...

MATCH SIX
Kaito Kiyomiya, Kazuyuki Fujita, HAYATA & Eita vs TEAM NOAH (Go Shiozaki, Akitoshi Saito, Atsushi Kotoge & Hi69)

Kazuyuki Fujita's team took part in the RED VIPER toast, which afterwards made HAYATA laugh, Eita grimace and Kaito Kiyomiya look dazed (he kept repeating "Red Viper" backstage), even so dazed he did the machine gun chops on Go Shiozaki.

Winner: Kazuyuki Fujita with The Beast Bomb on Atsushi Kotoge (15 minutes, 8 seconds)

MATCH SEVEN
GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Championship Match
Good Looking Guys (YO-HEY & Tadasuke) vs Shuji Kondo & Junta Miyawaki

Junta Miyawaki entered looking determined (and flinging the curtain open), Shuji Kondo stalked on behind. During the match, Kondo was like a wall that YO-HEY was bouncing off, and so was Tadasuke (who had made crotch chops to provoke Kondo) for that matter. With such disparate opponents, the best strategy seemed to be to take out Kondo (as much as possible) and then work on the much softer Miyawaki.  YO-HEY was seen to be walking on the apron, making belt motions when Tadasuke had Miyawaki in a sub, but Miyawaki often proved more resilient than expected. However, despite that, Kondo still had to save him a couple of times, and Miyawaki eventually was overwhelmed by the force of nature that is YO-HEY...but significantly, with the help of Tadasuke.

Winner: YO-HEY with a dropkick on Junta Miyawaki (19 minutes, 39 seconds)

As GLG celebrated (the other members did not come out for some reason), Shuji Kondo was seen dragging Junta Miyawaki off. YO-HEY spoke on the mic, and thanked everyone in Osaka (a city that he and Tadasuke have ties to), and acknowledging that the assist came from Tadasuke for the win. Tadasuke wanted to sing a song for his hometown (he's actually from Kyoto), "Tokyo" by Yashikita Kajin (who ironically hated Tokyo, although the song is a love song, but then again as Tokyo and Osaka have always had a rivalry, this seems apt), but before he could even get started, they were interrupted by their next challengers. HAYATA and Eita. This was laden with symbolism; Osaka, RATELS, "The Married Couple", DragonGate...however, none of this was mentioned, but everyone knew it.

Eita initially made the challenge, saying that they were the "faces of the Noah Junior, you know why we came out at this timing. There is only one thing I want to say". HAYATA also spoke on the mic, and in a rare moment of comedy said that he and Eita would take those belts, and then sing. YO-HEY squared up to Eita, and Tadasuke to HAYATA. Backstage, Tadasuke was enraged that his chance to sing had been interrupted, so he would defend and then sing. YO-HEY knew that this challenge was going to be more even than their previous opponents, and was under no illusions about just who they were facing, he mentioned "the bond between Tadasuke and I", and remarked that no matter who the opponents were, they would continue to defend the belt.

*Note about songs in Osaka: Ebesan/Kikutaro uses theme music which is taken from an Osaka folk melody, which relates to Ebisu, the God of Fortune, using a new broom to sweep away the old.
