We spoke to Gabe Kidd of New Japan, who is set to challenge Kaito Kiyomiya for the GHC Heavyweight Championship at Noah's Yokohama BUNTAI event, "ABEMA presents GRAND SHIP 2024 in YOKOHAMA", on June 16th in Kanagawa. We spoke to Gabe Kidd about his violent behavior at ALL TOGETHER on May 6th at the Nippon Budokan, and his reasons for challenging for the GHC Heavyweight. What are his thoughts about this grudge that transcends the boundaries of promotions? 

Q: You are set to challenge for the GHC Heavyweight Championship on June 16th in Yokohama. What motivated you to go for that belt? 

GABE: The GHC Heavyweight has a long history, and has been worn by those who have achieved great things. I haven't challenged for the GHC, but that belt is already mine. What do you think about him (Kiyomiya) these days? He's lost his way. He's short tempered. You're done for on June 16th, I'll end your career in Yokohama. 

Q: What is your impression of Kiyomiya? 

GABE: He's a little fucking rat. That's all I've got to say about Kaito Kiyomiya.

Q: What are your thoughts on Kiyomiya, who you fought in last years G1 and WORLD TAG LEAGUE?

GABE: Everyone thinks this feud started with last years G1, but it actually started in 2022. I saw a picture of him imitating my teacher, Shibata (Katsuyori), in front of the Noah logo and I lost my mind. Are you fucking kidding me? On top of that, I put my life on the line for New Japan, enduring the tough training in the dojo. I'm gonna tear his head off, and prove that Kaito Kiyomiya is a weakling. 

Q: What is your impression of Noah? 

GABE: Noah is not doing so well these days, it doesn't have the momentum it used to have. I've been watching Noah for a long time, and KENTA and Marufuji (Naomichi) were amazing around 2005. I've save the no good Noah of today. 

Q: Do you think there's a difference between Noah and New Japan?

GABE: Comparing Noah and New Japan? (Laughs) If Noah is here (gestures hands down) then New Japan is here (holds hands up high). That's the difference. It's immeasurable. Noah wrestlers should come to the New Japan dojo, or rather, the WAR DOGS dojo. No one understands the New Japan fighting spirit better than I do. That's the difference between Noah and New Japan, or rather, between Noah and me. 

Q: Is your pride in being New Japan, something you cultivated at the LA dojo? 

GABE: I'll just say this: you can't teach mentality. Everyone thinks that Shibata taught me. Did he teach me? Are you fucking kidding me? I didn't learn from anyone, I trained on my own. Fuck the LA Dojo and Shibata!

Q: On June 16th, you will be fighting in the Noah ring. How do you feel about that? 

GABE: What do you think? I'll piss on the Noah logo when I enter the ring. I'll be happy to win the match, but then I'll piss on the Noah logo again. 

Q: You'll also be fighting Kenoh at ALL TOGETHER in Sapporo. What is your impression of Kenoh? 

GABE: My impression of Kenoh? (laughs). You've all see Super Mario, right? You know the mushroom-head, Toad? He's like a live action version of Toad. (Makes fun of Kenoh's pose). He's fucking annoying. Speaking of Kenoh, I saw his match with Akio Fujita at ALL TOGETHER, and it was hard to watch him look proud against a twenty-one year old. Fucking mushroom head. 

Q: GLG and WAR DOGS are teaming up, but did you hear anything about Jake Lee?

GABE: I'm not the leader of WAR DOGS. That's David Finlay. If I were the leader, we wouldn't be working with GLG. Look at us. We're a bunch of murderers. I've known Jake for a long time, and I know what he's doing to Naito, but it's nothing to do with us. I can't say anything until I see the results in Sapporo, but if it comes to it, I'll beat up GLG. I don't intend to get along with LJ Cleary and the others.

Q: Finally, please tell us of your enthusiasm. 

GABE: June 16th at Yokohama BUNTAI, Gabe Kidd vs Kaito Kiyomiya. Kiyomiya, come at me with all your might. Show me your guts, and all the results of your training, cultivated in the Noah dojo, and I'll show the world your pathetic appearance. You're not better than me at anything. The Noah crowd will, of course, be cheering for you, but I'm going to fuck up Noah. So what will you do? It is your role to lead Noah, but I'll tell you this; you have no ambition, and your mentality is shit. You'll be finished by me, and that's the end of it. I'm going to beat you, and take the top spot in Japan, and increase the value of the GHC Heavyweight. I'm going to make the whole world aware of how valuable this belt is, which is something you can't do. You're finished. Not just as a wrestler, you know? I'm gonna end your entire life on June 16th.
