(NOAH) "Donmai, Donmai" ~ Mitsuharu Misawa's diary ~ 21st March 2008

Cheers!! This is Misawa. 

I know that I wrote in my last blog that my neck hurts, so I'm sure some of you were worried, but unfortunately it still hurts. But when something is wrong with my body like this, even something as trivial as an ingrown nail, I worry about it and feel grateful for my health, but strangely enough, as I recover, I gradually forget about the pain and the discomfort, and being healthy becomes second nature. If I injure myself again, I repeat the same thing, but I think this "forgetting" and "repeat of the same mistakes" is a sign of the stupidity of humans. For example, when it comes to injuries, it's life-threatening for wild animals, so they will definitely try not to do the same thing again (though not for pet cats though), so I think this is an eternal theme.

I had to use my brain a little bit from the beginning.

Well, did you all see "The Sasaki's Ruthless Battle" that aired on the 16th (Sunday)? I think only those who watched it will understand, but I will say that I didn't do "that performance" by myself. I was given acting lessons down to the smallest details. Thank you to the staff and to Koyuki-san. I apologize for the inconvenience, but it was a good experience. 

And there was another recording this week. When aired between serious matches, it instantly brings a feeling of emptiness, and the songs are well-known too (Misawa sings) "If you're having trouble finding an empty room, leave it to THE LEAVE". 

THE LEAVE'S new commercial was recorded. It can only be viewed in the Kanto area, but this time Ippei is the main character in a way. 

First, before the recording, or rather, from the car on the way to the recording location, he did it again. 

Although we had been told to bring a suit, he only brought a suit jacket and pants, and no dress shirt. After a frantic call to the dojo and a lot of fuss, the staff prepared (or rather, bought) a dress shirt for Ippei, and we managed to get it all sorted out, but he took the dress shirt that the staff had gone out of their way to buy for him and wore it on his way home, showing just what a nerve he has. Still, preparing your belongings properly the day before you go out and checking them again the next morning is something you learn in elementary school, right? Moreover, during filming, he went to poop twice...Ippei causes trouble wherever he goes, and he is truly an embarrassment to Noah. He managed to get by thanks to a shirt prepared for him (or rather, purchased for him), but when he left he took the shirt that the staff had gone to the trouble of buying for him, showing just what a cheek he has. But you learn in elementary school that you should prepare your belongings the day before you go out, and check them again the next morning. What's more, he pooped twice during filming. Those of you reading this diary might think that Ippei is being bullied, but that's not true; he's happy. I mean, is he happy to be bullied and not seriously reflect on his actions? Or is the word "reflection" not even in his vocabulary? It's probably both. Despite this mishap, the new commercial was safely recorded and will be broadcast on April 6th (Sunday) during Noah's live broadcast, but it will be limited to the Kanto region. Look forward to it! 

I would like to answer the question from Shiozaki in the letter from Eldon*. Shiozaki drinks alcohol even abroad. But..., drink! Eat! Enjoy the opportunity! So, about "food", I'm not a big eater, but it depends on the month. There are times when I can't eat at all, and for some reason, I tend to overeat when the seasons change. It seems that many people tend to overeat due to stress, not just because they want to eat delicious food, but in my case, I tend to drink more than eat because of stress. If you overeat because of stress, you will often feel stressed again the next day, creating a vicious cycle, so if you still end up overeating, it's important to tell yourself that "eating delicious food means being healthy" so that you don't end up feeling bad. However, as you get older, your basal metabolism slows down and you can't keep up with the consumption of calories, so please be careful.  

Also, I have had the experience of "eating too much!" The most memorable one was when I went to an all-you-can-eat yakiniku restaurant in High School. I think it was a time when there were no matches and weight loss was not an issue, but I ate so much that I couldn't climb the stairs. I'll never be able to eat like that again. I wonder if Shiozaki will eat a lot in America and come back bigger. He will be coming back to Japan for the tag league, so please cheer for him.  

Finally, a question for Hirayanagi. You changed your ring name*, but honestly, do you like the name "Genba Hirayanagi"? Please answer honestly. Oh, and more importantly, I know it's a little late, but can you tell me what it means? I think a lot of people want to know.

Now, it's mid-March and the start of the next tour is fast approaching. The belt is gone, but I would like to put on a match worthy of Noah's first ever tag league in the next tour. Thank you for your support.

Notes

The Sasaki's Ruthless Battle: Romantic comedy about two lawyers who have differing personalities. The show was called a "Battle Royale" as the screenwriter was a huge pro wrestling fan, and even named the characters after wrestlers (Noah associated names are "Gen Sakuraba" although this does post date Misawa, "Keiichiro Baba", "Shinji Ogawa" (whose character was part of the wrestling club, but this may actually be Nayoya Ogawa and not Yoshinari). Misawa (who called the show "The Sasaki Couple's Battle Without Honor and Humanity," which is a common internet typo), appeared in Episode nine, "The Final Judgment! I'll Protect the Children!". He was the only Noah wrestler to appear. Misawa liked this show so much, the theme music was played at his funeral.  

Eldon: Eldon in Missouri, which is where Harley Race's training camp was. 

Genba's ringname: Until now he went by his real name, Tsutomu Hirayanagi.
