"Shinsuke, congratulations on becoming the US champion. But right now I'm completely preoccupied with myself. I'm a bit troubled, but I'm going to let it all out in the ring."
Ulka Sasaki, who will face WWE superstar Nakamura Shinsuke in a one-on-one match at the Budokan on January 1st, spoke his thoughts honestly. Nakamura had been crowned the US Champion at the WWE Survivor Series for the first time in about six years. Depending on his upcoming title defenses, there is a possibility that he may take part at the Budokan as the reigning champion. This makes his exquisite catch even more appealing, but at the same time, it also means that the pressure on Ulka will increase.
A match that could be considered a test for Ulka, has been scheduled. It will be a one-on-one bout with Naomichi Marufuji.
Noah's symbol*, skillfully managing the match, made things difficult for Ulka, but he didn't back down either. In the end, Marufuji's Torao and Ulka's knee strikes collided, and both were knocked out. After the match Marufuji evaluated his opponent in his characteristic way, saying, "I know he's strong, but he's stronger than people think." At the same time, Marufuji, who called Nakamura "perfect" in the most gracious terms, likened professional wrestling to a puzzle and encouraged Ulka, saying, "Get into (Nakamura's) pieces. Fill it in with your own," and "Show us the best performance you two can."
It will certainly not be easy to digest and embody these words, but Ulka will continue to agonize over them and let it all out in the ring, all in order to create the best performance he can against Nakamura. With one month left until the Budokan, he struggles and he suffers.

Notes
Noah's symbol: As Marufuji will tell Weekly Pro a few months later, he doesn't like this appellation. "Noah's symbol" to him is Misawa.
