Michinoku Fairytale - Tuesday August 15th 2000

Noah's first regional foray is held under the stars at a festival venue, enjoying a "free fight"! Kobashi and Rikio's debut, Akiyama's brilliance, UNTOUCHABLE vs NO FEAR. 6,100 people excited by this spectacular appearance!

Pro Wrestling Noah has had a great success with their first two events. The venue for the third show of this new and exciting promotion, is a festival called "Michinoku Fairytale" held in Minamise Village, Akita Prefecture. Last August, when Misawa and his team were still affiliated with All Japan Pro Wrestling, they held a show at this venue, and as a result, the organizers made an offer to Noah. It is true that some people were saying that there was no need to hold a show at the festival at this early stage of the promotion's existence. However, in true Misawa style, the show was made to happen. 

"Because connections with people are important"

Why do so many athletes and fans gather around Mitsuharu Misawa? I can't help but think that this statement provides a clue to answering such questions. This years wrestling festival, had the added bonus of being Noah's first regional event. In fact, In fact, there must have been many fans who were seeing Noah for the first time. The crowd was 6,100 people, which means 1,200 more fans came than last year. "I hope that the fans who came this year will come again next time," said Misawa after all the matches had finished, expressing his thoughts on the show. He is probably confident that he has left a performance that will raise expectations for the future. In fact, in the ring, each wrestler put up a fierce fight without holding back. Moreover, they sing songs of "freedom", which is the power of Noah. You can get a good sense of the relaxed atmosphere from the photos shown here.

Before the match, when asked about Takayama's statement that he would let him concentrate on his work as president, Misawa replied, "Even if I'm a wrestler, I'm stronger than Takayama."

Takayama launched a powerful attack against Misawa, yelling "Erotic President". Misawa acknowledged the attack, saying that it worked!

With the first tag team of Kobashi and Rikio, Akiyama's striking presence that has continued since the launch, and the first time in Noah that Untouchable faced No Fear, the card was enough to satisfy the core fans. The company was firmly committed to the belief that it would not push its products forward, and there was no cutting corners. 

I wonder how Noah appeared to those who saw the voyage for the first time tonight? It must have been a very hot, intense and enjoyable event to celebrate the end of summer.
