(NOAH) "Donmai, Donmai" ~ Mitsuharu Misawa's diary ~ 25th July 2008
The rainy season is finally over... It's hot... It's hot... Drunk Ippei is annoying...He hasn't fallen over much, but maybe someday.
Even so, this heat and sunlight is tough for me as I have sensitive skin and am not allowed to get sunburned. I wonder if it's always going to be like this. I wish they would put an air conditioner in the bathroom. But, I can't be greedy, so I've decided to accept that summer is hot, change my mindset to the fact that sweat is necessary, and get through it. This year, for the first time in years, salt* was floating on my black T-shirt. Seeing the white saliva salt floating on my T-shirt made me realize that it was midsummer, and at the same time, Misawa thought, "I'm still young."
Well, this was a long introduction, but the July tour has ended without a hitch. Thank you for all your support this time as well. I think all the wrestlers worked hard from the opening show in Hakata, which marked the turning point of Navi, to last week's event at the Budokan. How was it for those who came to watch? The world is in a tough situation, but I think they worked hard, so please come and watch the August tour.
Going back to the topic a little, when it's this hot, you want something cold, right? When you think of cold snacks, you think of ice cream and shaved ice. It seems like a lot of old favorites are being revived these days. I recently heard that Sharbik* is being sold already made. Sharbik brings back memories. I couldn't wait for it to be ready. By the way, I prefer shaved ice to ice cream. When it comes to the classic ice cream, it's definitely Garigari-kun! At this age, I don't have the courage to eat Garigari-kun outside, but I try to check out the limited-edition ones. I'm sorry to say, but I'm a little tired of the standard soda and cola, so maybe they're limited edition flavors. By the way, this year's pear flavor is good, but I prefer last year's mango. Having said that, I think the Rich Series Milk is the best. Garigari-kun, which has both refreshing ice and milky flavor, is revolutionary! Even though I prefer shaved ice, when I had a snack as a child, I would choose the one with condensed milk instead of just strawberry flavored ice.....
This has turned into a bit of a sub-topic, but in part to answer Ippei's question, the first thing to do to prevent summer fatigue is to eat well. I don't have a very strong digestion, but I eat without worrying about it. This is purely from my experience, but if you eat a well-balanced diet, your appetite shouldn't drop drastically. It's also a good idea to drink fluids to improve your metabolism. Sweat when you can (sweating is not only good for metabolism, it's also necessary for regulating body temperature). However, be careful of dehydration. ...In the end, it can't be summed up in one word, but it's important to be mindful of your health no matter the season. I hope this answers Ippei's question.
Next is Taniguchi. I think everyone is worried about him because he's absent, so please let us know how you recover. By the way, I'm looking forward to seeing Taniguchi's tan lines* this summer.
So, everyone, summer is just beginning. Take good care of your health and enjoy the summer while you go through it. There's still a little time until the tour starts in August, but we have a series of festival-like matches at SEM, Shiodome, Sendai, and Minase, so I'm looking forward to seeing you there.
I'm a fan of shaved ice, but soft-serve ice cream is a must-have at service areas for Misawa (of course, it's embarrassing to carry it around, so I have someone buy it for me).
See you in two weeks! Misawa.
Notes
Salt: Sweat lines
Sharbik: A frozen dessert base that you can make just by adding water and chilling it in the freezer
Tan lines: As in rope marks from S&M play. I. Don't. Want. To. Know.
