(NOAH) Costume Research: DragonBane

Weekly Pro
20th & 27th August 2025 (Issue no. 2368)

DragonBane wears a wide variety of costumes. When we asked him about his particular tastes, we found out that he designs them himself. Furthermore, the high level of his overall production skills was also highlighted, including the thoughts that went into his ring name.

Topknot Mask
The back of the mask has the kanji character for "Dragon" written on it. As a lover of Japanese culture, the mask has a samurai topknot to resemble a dragon's crest.

His tights feature a dragon illustration on the side. Around the waist, there's an oriental ramen bowl-like pattern. He explains, "My favorite brand, Versace, often uses similar patterns".

Dragon and Bane
One kneepad says "Dragon", the other says "Bane". He says he found the zebra print in a fabric store in Mexico and liked it, so he decided to use it.

Designed boots
The side of his boots have a dragon's eye drawn on it.

Overmask and gown
The gowns are made by PICAIA in Japan, and the uniquely designed overmasks are made in Mexico.

Dragons and Villains
The professional wrestler DragonBane, as his name suggests, is based on a dragon. His name is a cross between that and "Bane", the villain from the Batman comics. He's also an artistic genius, designing all of his costumes himself, including those of his brother, Alpha Wolf. In other words, he's one of the designers of "Los Golpeadores".
"I create an image with dragons and Bane in mind. First comes the mask. Then the costume, knee pads, boots, and so on, completing the whole thing. I've made so many costumes. It's an incredible number. I keep the ones I really like, but I usually sell or give away the rest." favorite is a black-based costume that he keeps at home as a memento, and depending on his mood, he decides on which one to wear each day. He has a strong creative urge, and once a design is complete, he places orders both in Mexico and Japan. While he does not sew or use a sewing machine himself, he does sometimes paint the finishing touches on wolf masks. He says, "I love dragons, not the ones from anime or manga, but for the real, imaginary creatures that they are. That won't change, and I'll continue to express that feeling in my costumes."
We can't wait to see how DragonBane will come to life in the future!
