(NOAH) Kenoh's "beloved" was KENTA! He visited New Japan in Satsumasendai two days ago, and directly appealed for a match.
25th December 2024 (Issue no 2333)
Kenoh burst into New Japan Pro Wrestling's Satsumasendai event on December 6th and challenged KENTA to a singles match at Noah's Nippon Budokan event on January 1st.
Kenoh appeared in the ring following KENTA'S victory in an eight man tag, and called out to him "My beloved KENTA, your old home, Noah, will be celebrating its 25th anniversary next year, and if you have any feelings for your old home, then come on January 1st 2025 and step into the ring at Nippon Budokan and have a one-on-one singles match with me". In response, KENTA welcomed him, saying, "Kenoh, I'm glad you came all the way out here in the countryside," and agreed, saying, "There's no reason for me to refuse." A few hours later, it was announced that the two would face off at the Nippon Budokan in Noah on January 1st.
KENTA'S comments are below.
"I've expanded quite a bit over the past 25 years. To put it in a positive way, I've expanded quite a bit. I've had a lot of experiences over the past twenty-five years, both good and bad, that he doesn't have. But I've gotten stronger, haven't I? I've gotten better on the microphone...I don't know if I've gotten better, or if I've just gotten longer...Let's catch up on the last few years. I've heard you've been doing a lot of stuff over the past few years, like YouTube. You'll probably use today's video on YouTube, too. Well, I'll do it. If you've come all the way to this unknown part of Kagoshima, and this unknown part of Kojima, I have no reason to turn you down. I already had no reason to turn you down. It must have been a long journey to come all the way to the middle of nowhere... I'm looking forward to seeing you Noah fans at Nippon Budokan on January 1st, for the first time in a while."
Backstage after the match at Noah's December 8th Numazu event, Kenoh spoke again about his upcoming bout with KENTA. "I've got a singles match lined up with KENTA, the man I love. The day before yesterday, I went to the New Japan Pro-Wrestling event in Kagoshima, and KENTA readily agreed to my request for a singles match. I was incredibly happy to see that KENTA truly cares about Noah, his old home. I'm going to look through your sports album and autobiography and find your weaknesses. I'm going to beat you at Nippon Budokan on January 1st and put on a fight that will make you want to step into the Noah ring again."
This will be their first one-on-one match since Noah in Tokushima on March 2nd, 2014. At the time, Kenoh was upset that KENTA had told him in the ring after his loss, "This is your current level of ability."
Will Kenoh be able to avenge his loss eleven years ago in this second singles?
