This year marks the 20th anniversary of Go Shiozaki's professional wrestling debut. His first step into the world of professional wrestling was a significant one, undertaken with immense expectations.

Shiozaki made his professional wrestling debut on July 24, 2004, at Differ Ariake. He was the second homegrown rookie to debut after Kotaro Suzuki. The match card featured Jun Akiyama & Makoto Hashi vs. Tamon Honda & Shiozaki, and the inclusion of Akiyama's name made the match significantly more significant.
At the time, Shiozaki was working as Kenta Kobashi's assistant, possessing a physique of 183cm in height and 100kg in weight. At the back of the arena, many wrestlers, including Kobashi himself, as well as Mitsuharu Misawa and Yoshinari Ogawa, were watching. Amidst this, Shiozaki threw everything he had at Akiyama. He couldn't win, of course. But even the fact that he managed to get Akiyama to use the Exploder (his signature move) as the finishing move, (something he himself doesn't remember), showed the immense potential he possessed. Akiyama said, "I wanted to show him that he had potential. It was great to see a fresh, promising heavyweight wrestler debut after such a long time."
Twenty years have passed since that match...
Shiozaki has continued to rise to expectations, winning the GHC Heavyweight Championship five times and the GHC Tag Team Championship seven times. He has become a symbol of Noah, protecting the ring under the motto "I am NOAH."
