Noah's "Real Rebel", OZAWA (28), talks about the upcoming autumn singles league, the N-1 VICTORY 2025, which kicks off on the 8th at Korakuen Hall. While a member of the villainous "TEAM 2000X," this chaotic man says he loves a "clean fight". In this exclusive interview we bring you plenty of the OZAWA theatre, as he shares his outlook on the N-1 and what lies beyond.

Q: You initially said that your decision to enter the N-1 would depend on your mood, so the reason you decided to enter was...
OZAWA: It's up to Noah. It would have been best if I hadn't participated, but since my original goal was to bring down those above me, so I thought this would be a good opportunity.
Q: You'll face Naomichi Marufuji in the opening match. What was your impression after watching his GHC Heavyweight Championship match against KENTA?
OZAWA: It was a terrible performance. It made me feel a little sad that even the "Genius of the Ark" can't defy age. He's an old man, so I don't think he can fight long matches anymore. I want to treat him carefully so he doesn't get hurt, and finish him off quickly.
Q: Block B also includes Kenoh, who you lost to in the GHC Heavyweight Championship match in July (OZAWA claims that the referee was bribed)
OZAWA: In regards to Kenoh, its either change the referee so he can't be bribed, or bribe him by paying double what Kenoh did.
Q: So far, a bribe seems more likely?
OZAWA: But, as a Noah fighter, I too have pride, so I really can't forgive bribery or dirty foul play during a match. That's not how Noah fights. That's why I'm hesitant. If I bribe someone just because they bribed me, there's a risk the same rule will be applied.

Q: It seems like even in your own matches, there are instances of foul play and interference...
OZAWA: If that were to happen, the referee would stop the match. Surely there is no way it would go ahead without being stopped? "Clean fight" is my favorite phrase.
Q: By the way, the second place goes to..
OZAWA: Yuka Murayama
Q: Who do you think will advance from Block A?
OZAWA: With Masa Kitamiya, the chairman of our team (TEAM 2000X), we have a natural progression... I think he'll be able to win by unleashing the true dark power of the Noah Dojo.
Q: Are you confident that you can win if you face him in the finals?
OZAWA: Well, I wouldn't say I'm aiming for it, but rather that I've already won.
Q: What's next for you after winning?
OZAWA: Honestly, no matter what happens, I'm the only one who can be the MVP of the "Pro Wrestling Sontaku Awards." If anyone else were to win, the very existence of the award would be in jeopardy. Up until now, it's been a "Grand Prix" based on who's the friendliest with the judges. I'm not close with anyone at all, so this time it's finally time to show that the judges have properly judged the awards, and if I win the N-1, which creates value, it's a sure thing, and even if I don't, there's no real competition.
Q: KONOSUKE TAKESHITA, the winner of New Japan Pro Wrestling's G1, is also a candidate for MVP.
OZAWA: He's actually a foreign wrestler, who has been imported back into Japan, right? If you heard that John Cena was the Pro Wrestling Grand Prix MVP, wouldn't you be like, "Huh?" If it was "Konosuke Takeshita," I'd understand, but it's "KONOSUKE TAKESHITA."
Q: You have a unique presence in the world of professional wrestling. What do you think about your role as a heel?
OZAWA: There's not a single sensible person in the world of pro wrestling, and as a member of the Social Reform Team, I'm the only one with common sense. I should be a super baby face, but since the majority of people lack common sense, I think it makes me seem like a heel.
Q: What is your ideal image of a professional wrestler?
OZAWA: I want to be a wrestler who does crazy things while I am one, but then becomes a politician after I retire and pretends to be a normal person.
