(NOAH) Omori failed to get revenge in his return match. Izumida's second consecutive win!
(Issue No. 997)
Try harder, Takao Omori
Judging from the reaction in the arena, Izumida's victory over Omori was indeed an upset, or perhaps even a major upset.
That's how far apart the positions of the two men were. Omori, who had a brilliant career in NO FEAR, and was free to say what he wanted, and Izumida, who had struggled to break out of the mid card. However, that was only before Noah started. It was a case of being left behind if he wasn't careful, and that really fired up Izumida! Although he had already defeated Omori in his second match since the launch, it had been in a tag match with Taue as his partner, which left some wondering whether he would be able to compete as a singles wrestler. But Izumida showed off a complete victory here. He defeated Omori in a one on one singles match, making it two wins in a row. Therefore, it would be disrespectful to Izumida to say that this is no longer an upset.
Once fired up, Izumida surpasses Omori in on the mic, raving on about the same question. "What? This is Omori? Today's Omori is not the kanji "Takao Omori", it's the hiragana "Takao Omori". What's that? If you want to run your mouth, come on over and I'll fix your elbow!"
Although he had won, Izumida sensed throughout the match that Omori's right elbow, which had undergone surgery, was not in perfect condition. From the way he spoke, it seemed that he was not in a perfect position to celebrate his victory. That is why he wants to fight Omori next time, when Omori is 100%. In his own words, he means the Omori that is written in kanji.
Note
Izumida's promo doesn't translate well. What he is basically saying that the Omori he faced today was weak like a little child, and therefore the grown up spelling in kanji is not applicable, only the spelling in hirigana that a child would use when learning to spell their name.
Picture notes
Omori himself admitted that his right arm was not 100%, saying that he "had the willpower to make up for it".
"Izumida's slap" caused both a "tremendous sound" and an "uproar in the arena"
After his win, Izumida looked down on Omori with a grin. Weekly Pro noted that since their switch to Noah, it seemed like their roles had been reversed.
