(NOAH) GHC Heavyweight Champion Eddie Edwards demands overseas challengers

On the 2nd October, Eddie Edwards the GHC Heavyweight Champion, demanded challengers abroad.

Edwards, who defeated Naomichi Marufuji (38) at the Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium the day before, smiled and said "I am glad I won" at the first interview. For the future he declared that "I would like to enhance the value of the GHC worldwide, I will wrestle anyone abroad anywhere such as the United States, Canada, Mexico etc."

In response to this statement, Noah's chairman, Masayuki Uchida(55) said, "Now that Edwards has the belt, we must respond to his request" he said with a bitter expression. Although it may lead to an overflow of challengers for the title, Chairman Uchida added, "Because Noah is conscious of recovering the belt from Edwards, I think there will be cases when Noah wrestlers overseas will challenge for it". To recapture it so enthusiastically will entail sending "thugs" into enemy territory.

Due to his schedule, Edwards asserts that he cannot participate in the "Global League Games 2017" which will be held at Korakuen Hall on the 14th October. Regarding his return to Japan he said, "I do not know at the moment, as I am not only Noah's champion but also part of US Impact Wrestling".
Now that the strongest challenger, Marufuji was defeated, will he be able to reclaim the belt once again in crisis?
