(NOAH) Marufuji has Global League Victory, Shiozaki floored

(yahoo.co.jp 14th October 2017)

Noah's "Global League Game 2017" started today at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall on the 14th October. Naomichi Marufuji (38) won in A block, a good start to his second win in two years.

He faced Go Shiozaki (35), who he is unbeaten by. The start was only three minutes and he impaled a tiger king style hit on Shiozaki's jaw and by doing so, Shiozaki went down. His movement was stopped by this. After this the fierce battle raged for fifteen minutes. Lastly, he rolled up his tights and battered Shiozaki to win. "Because it is dangerous, I usually would not do it, I thought I had done a KO, but I came to think that there was no choice but do to this!"

This year he has also actively expanded to other organizations. Masahito Kakihara will returned to battle (Korakuen Hall, August 14th) to challenge the first UWF rule. In DDT he took the KO-D tag title and participated in Factory Pro Wrestling for the first time.

On the other hand, in Noah he was active in "Global Tag League" and the GHC Tag Titles. Even at the Yokohama event on the 1st, he aimed to take the GHC Heavyweight title, but lost to Eddie Edwards (33). That is why Marufuji vowed strongly, "I will stand in the final ring on November 19th". The leader of the league will not yield it to anyone.
