(Noah) Hajime Ohara's Blog - October 2008
October 2008 found Hajime Ohara in Oviedo (Spain), he had a day off and so he went for a walk around the city. He says that while he was there he visited the butcher and "got hooked" on the "authentic taste" of Iberian Ham (says he didn't eat raw ham when in Japan).
So after eating Iberian Ham and drinking wine, he went to a cafe which was "filled with a nice scent of coffee". By the time he was done, night had fallen and he says that walking about was fascinating as you got the feel of Spain and the old wonderful city. He highly recommends visiting Oviedo.
This is his third time visiting the country, but he loves coming back each time.
Another pleasure was travelling (even if it was a five or six hour drive) as he enjoyed the scenery, especially while he was listening to music. At the venue he was excited to see there were many children there to see him as he wanted to leave them with good memories of an exciting day.
After Spain it was on to France, and although the hotel staff were helpful, and he was delighted to see Orlando Jordan (an old friend), he doesn't find French as easy as he does Spanish.
