(NOAH) Takashi Sugiura's second defense, taken from "companion" Marufuji

Takashi Sugiura (47) defeated challenger, Naomichi Marufuji, to take the second defense of the GHC Heavyweight Championship. The battle between Sugiura's elbow and Naomichi Marufuji's reverse horizontal chop, plus the attack outside the ring, as they battled with each other. The Shiranu technique, Marufuji's finisher, was done but to no avail, after twenty-five minutes and forty-eight seconds, victory was taken from Marufuji by the front neck lock.

Immediately after the victory, Kenoh and Kiyomiya challenged. At Korakuen Hall on the 10th June, both he and Kiyomiya will meet for the championship challenge. Sugiura commented "It's okay everyone, pops will do his best against the boys". About the match with Marufuji he said, "he is a fighter who has fought with me, both when I was good and when I was bad; I am proud to have been able to fight with Marufuji at Korakuen today"
