(NOAH) Kenoh's column "Come At Me You Bastards" - July 2018
Q: The last time we spoke, you were talking about searching for something, and you were going on a trip to find it. Where did you go?
KENOH: UK for "Frontline: Build Me an Empire"Q: How was your journey?
KENOH: First, I developed a headache on my way to the airplane. It was the morning after the defeat by Takashi Sugiura for the GHC at Korakuen. I was tired, and there was a series of interviews at Haneda airport.
Q: Did you see the sights?
KENOH: I went to Tower Bridge and saw Big Ben. Big Ben was under construction.
Q: How was the match?
KENOH: It was fun. I was excited. There were many fans. My opponent, Chris Ridgeway, is young, but he is a great athlete. He was a competitor I'd like to face in Noah. Like Japan, Britain is a small island country, and it was a pleasure to have some fans waiting for me in the UK (smile).
Afterwards they discuss Kenoh's return to Noah, he says that thanks to the British expedition he was able to keep on going because of the small things that made it matter, although back in Noah at the moment he has no particular "theme" for now. He lost the GHC Heavyweight, and failed to win "Global Heavyweight Tag League" and failed to recapture the belt in June.
KENOH: I went to a British pub
Q: How was the beer?KENOH: It was not very tasty (laugh) (NOTE: he drank Heineken, says one of his favourite beers is Orion - which is understandable as he spends a lot of time in Okinawa when off tour and the beer is brewed on the island).
They then discuss something other than beer. Kenoh says he saw Japan vs Poland (World Cup 2018) while in the UK. He saw how Japan tried, and thought of the fight in Noah. He thought about how the veterans know how to present themselves. He was also inspired by the WBC (World Boxing Council) and a fighter for who ten years fought against the odds.
He says he is shocked that Shiozaki was the next challenger, and interestingly he mentions Taniguchi, who hasn't joined in the generational struggle, but was part of the "Super Violent Army". He talks about his past interview themes (mainly threatening people like Tanaka, Sugiura and Marufuji and of course bringing Noah back to the Budokan), but his next theme will be GENESIS!
