Noah's GHC Heavyweight Champion, Takashi Sugiura (48) gave a press conference at Noah's Tokyo office on September 3rd, after overcoming the challenge of Masa Kitamiya (29).
The champion, who determined his 5th defence by front neck lock said with a relaxed expression, "it was physical match and a tough one, I could safely defend though".
After the match, Katsuhiko Nakajima (30) and the tag partner of Masa Kitamiya, came out to challenge for the belt which has been set for the 4th October at Korakuen Hall.
"You have finally come out. You will feel bruises".
And, smiling fearlessly, Katsuhiko Nakajima (30) made the challenge and decided the title fight for the 4th October at Korakuen Hall.

Katsuhiko Nakajima defeated Takashi Sugiura in October 2016, becoming GHC Heavyweight champion for th first time, he was defeated in August 2017 by Eddie Edwards. After losing the belt he transformed into the "Dark Kick Fighter", who uses chair attacks and face kicks with an eerie smile.
Sugiura said about Nakajima, "His personality is bad." (Rest translates as something like he is better than he was at that time, but as I have the belt, part of me doesn't know what he will do).

He also offically announced that he will face Takeshi Morishima (39), who will return for the first time in about three and a half years at "GENESIS" (October 15th, Korakuen Hall).
Takashi Sugiura showed discomfort at Morishima's behavior, such as his "meaningless appeal" at Marufuji's 20th anniversary event "Flight" saying that he didn't understand the connection, but he understands what the intention is.
