(NOAH) EVENT RECAP: 30th October 2018, Korakuen Hall ~ Global League night one
As per tradition when a league runs, Noah displayed the winners trophy along with the league tables in the lobby of the venue. As for inside the venue, there was a carnival atmosphere, with Hardcam and Samurai TV crew noted at the arena. Today's event (from which I am expecting to hear about at least one concussion), will be broadcast on Nicopro on the 1st November at 8pm (JST)
Kenoh did the Noah's Ark fan club exclusive photo session today, while Akitoshi Saito manned the merchandise booth and signed autographs. RAN was also out today (although she did not sing), dressed for Halloween and looking very goth while she sold her 2019 calendar and CDs.
After the event, Noah handed out candy as per usual.
All the competitors came to the ring, and lined up in their relevant blocks with A Block on one side and B block on the other, its not often that people dwarf Kaito Kiyomiya (being one of the tallest on the roster), but Cody Hall did just that.
Kenoh, not in a good mood, and with trophy in hand (he won Global League 2017), decided to square up with Naomichi Marufuji (who just looked at him).
The only Halloween themed thing was done by Atsushi Kotoge, who was wearing the same Dracula-esque type cloak that he had worn to the Global League press meeting.
There are many ways to wind Kenoh up, Takashi Sugiura ignores him, but Naomichi Marufuji treats him as a child, and at the end of the ceremony, held the ropes open for him, which is done by a junior for a senior (its like holding a door open for someone). Kenoh scowled, and stalked off to the other side.
This was not going to be the worst thing that would happen to Kenoh this evening.
MATCH ONE
Mohammed Yone, Quiet Storm, Hajime Ohara & Hitoshi Kumano vs Atsushi Kotoge, Kaito Kiyomiya, Junta Miyawaki and Yoshiki Inamura
A wave of giggles went through the crowd as when the match card flashed up on the screen, someone got Hitoshi Kumano's name wrong, he was listed as "Jun Kumano".
The Dracula cape vanished, as Kotoge put on a normal one, albeit it a pumpkin colored one for Halloween. There was a period of time when Noah did actually have a Halloween show, but in recent years this has been replaced very much by Global League.
WINNER: Quiet Storm with the 50cm lariat on Yoshiki Inamura (7 minutes and 10 seconds)
MATCH TWO
Mitsuya Nagai, KAZMA SAKAMOTO, HAYATA, YO-HEY & Tadasuke vs Hi69, Minoru Tanaka, Yoshinari Ogawa, Masao Inoue & Seiya Morohashi
"Anything can happen, this card is incredible"
Yoshinari Ogawa started things off by throwing water on Mitsuya Nagai.
Unsurprisingly, the Hooligans and RATELS were not getting along, despite being on the same team. Nagai did warn them previously, "do not forget who you are teaming with". Masao Inoue very much stayed out of the ring.
Afterwards, Seiya Morohashi has challenged for the tag belts, he has not revealed his partner though (it's thought it might either be Yoshinari Ogawa or Kouki Iwasaki), however who he challenges will depend on who wins when Hi69 & Minoru Tanaka defend against Koji Kanemoto and Hiroshi Yamato on November 25th at Korakuen Hall.
WINNER: Tadasuke with the neck lock on Seiya Morohashi (10 minutes and 25 seconds)
MATCH THREE

Cody Hall vs Maybach Taniguchi

WINNER: Akitoshi Saito with the Suicludees (9 minutes and 57 seconds)

Kenoh vs Kohei Sato
Kenoh, not in the best of moods, and this was about to get worse as Sato ground Kenoh into the ground, and semi knocked him out with a kick (which like the headbutt that busted Kenoh open), could be heard all over the arena.
Tension skyrocketed both in the ring and out of it.
After the match, Sato provoked Kenoh with his pose

Naomichi Marufuji vs Katsuhiko Nakajima
Katsuhiko Nakajima was up to his old tricks by hanging around outside the ring and grinning, Marufuji, however, was not putting up with Nakajima's nonsense, and with his own big grin on his face, started things off by piledriving him into the ring apron.
It was a highly anticipated and absolutely brutal match, Marufuji pulled out the knee brace attack, but Nakajima ultimately won after a KO kick, and then loomed over him with a beyond sinister smile on his face.
WINNER: Katsuhiko Nakajima with KO kick with vertical spike on following a high kick to the face (12 minutes and 48 seconds)
MATCH SEVEN
GHC JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Daisuke Harada vs Kotaro Suzuki
Lots of cheers for Daisuke Harada and Kotaro Suzuki (Suzuki given flowers), and then a blizzard of streamers, half and half, Purple for Harada, Yellow and red for Suzuki. More than anyone else had got that evening.
The GHC Junior Heavyweight match started with a Tombstone piledriver to Daisuke Harada on the apron. Kotaro Suzuki was noted to be using Misawa's moves in an intense match, and Daisuke Harada said to have been studying Suzuki's moves. Fast offenses.
Hajime Ohara was seen watching...
Tadasuke aside, Kotaro Suzuki said afterwards about defending the belt, there is only one person he wants to defend against as the rest are "in short supply", and then he left without mentioning a name. Fans speculated that it was going to be Yoshinari Ogawa, but in his post match promo, Kotaro Suzuki said it was Naomichi Marufuji.
Marufuji later said thanks but no thanks, he had no interest in challenging "now".
Besides. He's a heavyweight.
After the match the crowd was screaming, and Suzuki was mobbed practically when he appeared after the event in the lobby, with people wanting to shake his hands and having their photo taken with him.
Marufuji aside, the Junior Heavyweights now have a Takashi Sugiura in the form of veteran Kotaro Suzuki to contend with.
It will be odd seeing Daisuke Harada without the belt though. He held it in total for 394 days, and was only eleven days off beating Taiji Ishimori's record of 405. This will be Kotaro Suzuku's third title reign (if you count when he was working the Mushiking Terry gimmick that is).

MATCH EIGHT

Takashi Sugiura vs Go Shiozaki
"Sometimes I wonder if Sugiura is made of metal"
Go Shiozaki starts by chopping Takashi Sugiura violently, Sugiura struck back with a piledriver off the ring apron, and Shiozaki was so still that people wondered if he was still alive. Shiozaki was groggy, but he fought back.
After the match, Go Shiozaki spoke to the crowd saying that no matter how hard and how severe, he would keep going (I was reminded of Hayabusa's speech in FMW during one of their leagues when his fingers were turning blue).
WINNER: Go Shiozaki with the short range lariat (16 minutes and 28 seconds)
