(Noah) Event recap ~ Yokohama Radiant Halls, 18th October 2018

The signing ceremony between Daisuke Harada and Kotaro Suzuki was meant to take place today.
I say "meant to" as only Daisuke Harada turned up, he sat and waited and looked around, until a message arrived from Kotaro Suzuki, saying like a true heel, that he was too busy to attend, but on the day is when the talking will be done, and he will make Harada sorry.
The last person who didn't attend a signing ceremony was Maybach Taniguchi, KENTA (who was leading the faction he was in at the time), replaced him and when asked where Taniguchi was said nonchalantly, he didn't know and that "maybe he has gone home."
Harada, humiliated and infuriated, said would always defend the GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion against all comers, and basically was going to beat the hell out of Suzuki on the 30th.

Noah had two birthday boys today, Atsushi Kotoge turns 33, and Maybach Taniguchi, who turns 41.

Kaito Kiyomiya was on autograph duty, where a new Ogawa t-shirt is on sale (plus four new portrait pictures of Noah wrestlers)

There were a lot of energetic fans today, and a video of RAN played during the intermission.

MATCH ONE
Hajime Ohara vs Junta Miyawaki

Hajime Ohara used old theme music this evening (which he has tended to use it now as a singles competitor, rather than use The Backbreakers theme.)

Junta Miyawaki, (as well as Kaito Kiyomiya), is starting to develop an attitude problem by GLARING at Ohara as he came to the ring.

After the match, Ohara was seen giving encouragement to Miyawaki.

WINNER: Hajime Ohara with the Muy Bien (7 minutes and 44 seconds)

MATCH TWO
Hitoshi Kumano & Yoshiki Inamura vs Mitsuya Nagai & Masao Inoue

Nagai: Who are you rooting for?
Man in crowd (probably terrified): Mr. Nagai
Nagai: GOOD!

Yoshiki Inamura looked tired as he came to the ring today.
Well, this is your life now. It doesn't get any easier the fatigue of constant motion, constant travel and constant pain in an abused body, but you eventually learn to cope with it. Despite his look of fatigue, he got praise today for his strength, and his good dropkicks.

Mitsuya Nagai and Masao Inoue were funny today, which is surprising as Nagai is the type to throw the bumbling old vet out of the ring, but they managed to get along.

WINNER: Mitsuya Nagai with the Nagai Lock on Yoshiki Inamura (12 minutes and 32 seconds)

MATCH THREE
50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm) vs Masa Kitamiya & Kouki Iwasaki

Not really much to report on this match aside from Yone getting kicked by Iwasaki, and this will be the last time that 50 Funky Powers team up before Global League begins.

WINNER: Mohammed Yone with the Funky Buster bomb on Kouki Iwasaki (10 minutes and 7 seconds)

MATCH FOUR
Hi69 & Minoru Tanaka vs RATELS (Tadasuke & HAYATA)

Ultra Soul played, and the fans sang along.
The match was said to be fierce, but there were moments of humor and good teamwork from both sides.

Surprisingly, HAYATA did the joint fist raise entry with Tadasuke on the turnbuckles (I say "surprisingly", as says he finds this embarrassing)

Minoru Tanaka got biffed on the nose by a streamer, his waist is still taped, but he seemingly had no problems today.

Crowd singing along with Ultra Soul at the end with Minoru Tanaka and Hi69 on the turnbuckles

WINNER: Minoru Tanaka with the Minoru Special on HAYATA (11 minutes and 16 seconds)

MATCH FIVE
Atsushi Kotoge & Kaito Kiyomiya vs Maybach Taniguchi & Cody Hall

Kaito Kiyomiya flying high today with huge dropkicks from the turnbuckles.
The birthday boy, Atsushi Kotoge, wore a black cloak with a dark pink one underneath (he says he doesn't want anymore cloaks for his birthday as he has a closet full of them), but he ultimately lost to the other, older, Noah born, birthday boy.

At the end of the match as KAZMA SAKAMOTO was not with Noah today, Maybach was holding the Hooligans flag.

WINNER: Maybach Taniguchi with the Zwei Bomb on Atsushi Kotoge (11 minutes and 37 seconds)

MATCH SIX
RATELS (Daisuke Harada & YO-HEY) vs Yoshinari Ogawa & Kotaro Suzuki

"How long has it been since you saw this tag?"

Kotaro Suzuki was up to his old tricks, and completely unrepentant, he punched Harada and then stepped on the belt while he battered him some more. This was very much a match between Harada, Suzuki and Ogawa with YO-HEY just as a footnote.

Yoshinari Ogawa is 51 (he'll be 52 next month), and he can still keep pace with the juniors as he went toe to toe with them in what is described as an "chaotic match". Afterwards another outside brawl broke out between Harada and Suzuki, which was broken up.

There was said to be a lot of Misawa in the Ogawa and Suzuki tag match (Ogawa of course once being tag partners with Misawa, and Suzuki being trained by him).

WINNER: Yoshinari Ogawa with a submission move on YO-HEY (13 minutes and 32 seconds)

MATCH SEVEN
Takashi Sugiura, Naomichi Marufuji & Akitoshi Saito vs Katsuhiko Nakajima, Go Shiozaki & Kenoh

Kenoh said that today is a good start for Global League. Says he is in the same block as "enemies and allies". Calling people "allies" is odd for Kenoh, as he pretty much dislikes everyone, and told his "allies" once they were all "dumbass wrestlers".
Except for Atsushi Kotoge that is, Kenoh felt he defied description.

Kenoh provoking Marufuji (who appears to have had a haircut), at the start of the match when the three heavyweight champions (Sugiura holds the GHC Heavyweight singles, and Marufuji and Saito the heavyweight tag), faced them, as Shiozaki stood staring fixedly at Takashi Sugiura.
When it finally was time for them to meet in the ring, Kenoh watched as Sugiura tagged in Marufuji and the three veterans had a quick "strategy meeting", and then he got chopped. However, it was the Shiozaki vs Marufuji chop battle which sounded like loud gunshots.

Nakajima's thigh has been taped, but as his opponents discovered, he can still kick well.

After the match, and as he occupies a senior position on the Noah Wrestlers Association board, Shiozaki is the one to address the crowd on special events; today he thanked everyone for coming, said Global League was beginning, he would win, and urged fan attendance at the upcoming events.
