(NOAH) Kenoh's column "Come At Me You Bastards" ~ October 2018
The article starts by their discussing a good article in last weeks "Weekly Pro", which was apparently something to do with Tenryu and Morishima.
Speaking of Morishima, Kenoh is asked if he has seen him recently? Aside from the business cards and comparing him to something in anime, Kenoh said that regarding the injury (Morishima has had septic arthritis), Morishima said he was in so much pain that he didn't think he could take it if the surgery was delayed even by a couple of days. You can understand it when you look at the pictures of him beforehand, because he felt so alive, which he hadn't for a long time, but there was no way he could have gone ahead with the match, and it was a shame it had to be cancelled.
Kenoh says he wants to talk more about Morishima ("the boss"), but this time its on to "Global League 2018".
The interviewer says to Kenoh that he has seen he is in the same block as Naomichi Marufuji, with their first league match being on the 8th November in Korakuen.
Kenoh says that this is what he has been asking for since the end of last year (i.e. he had hoped that Marufuji would challenge him for the belt, he never did, to the point Kenoh started threatening to nominate him as challenger), and Kenoh says that the situation is disappointing.
Q: What do you mean?
Kenoh: I have been saying this ever since I have had a belt, finally the singles match has been made, but its a waste of the seven official matches, and it should not be so trivial.
Kenoh says that the championship match between them would have been decisive as to whether his (Marufuji's) era continued, or whether Kenoh took it and made it his own. He says again that its regretful that it has to take place during Global League, especially since their one match is worth half of it.
Q: It is a novel remark
Kenoh says that it cannot be helped, he is happy that he does get a singles match after all, but it is regretful, so maybe it would have been better if he was in the other block and they met in the finals. Overall, matches are naturally important in the league, but matches with Marufuji are what decides the fate of Noah. He had the idiation about doing it, and he will find a way to do it.
"That is the statement on it. I have been saying it now for a year, and now that the singles match has been put together, it is certain it will fire up and burst into flames. I will fight him to the death. In the books, it will be a match that is mentioned in a preface. It all starts with a good story, of how the situation with Marufuji became a turning point for Noah. From now on, everything you have been building up, your cabinet support rating, I will squeeze out all of it."
Rant over, Kenoh goes on to say that from last year, Marufuji has been his highest priority, and if he (Kenoh) wins the league, he will take the belt and nominated him as the first challenger.
Here, the interviewer asks Kenoh if there is anyone else, at all, outside of Marufuji in Global League? What about Masa Kitamiya and Katsuhiko Nakajima?
Kenoh answers that to prove that they are going to exceed the Veterans, there must be a fight among the new generation. Kenoh is going to prove that he is the best among them. He is going to be the one who changes the era of Noah, and he is looking forward to his match with Kohei Sato, which will take place on the 30th October at Korakuen. He says there are not many Japanese people who are physically built like he is. He fought him last year at ZERO-1 at the "Fire Festival", and was made aware of the strength of the heavyweight division. Because he won that match, he feels he finally cut his teeth as a heavyweight competitor.
"That pain has become my flesh and blood, and I am grateful for it"
Then when asked about B Block, Kenoh talks\screams\rants about his other obsession. He says he can only see one person. Can you guess who it is?
Yes. It's Takashi Sugiura.
He has been defeated twice by Sugiura this year for the title, and Sugi is simply just borrowing the belt in 2018, and since that time the "cogwheels" have gone crazy.
Kenoh says he will take back what was borrowed in the finals, and he will take the belt back within the year.
Noah's last proper show (for titles, feuds etc) will be on the 16th December in Yokohama (note, NOAHFUL Gift, which is a end of year comedy show with costumes etc when all feuds are put aside is on the 24th), and this is pointed out to Kenoh that this is far away.
Kenoh has his plans, he will have the title match with Sugiura on the 7th December, and on the 16th, he will defend it against Marufuji, who he says he is "letting him wait at the priority boarding gate".
"There are many things, but 2018 will be my year"
