(NOAH) EVENT RECAP: 18th November 2018, Kyoto KBS Hall, Kyoto ~ Global League Night Eight

Naomichi Marufuji, Hi69 & HAYATA were missing from today's event.
Marufuji and Hi69 where up in Okinawa for Ryuku Pro Wrestling (where they faced GurukunMask and ShujiJoe, who famously had the match with YO-HEY & HAYATA last December), and HAYATA was appearing in ZERO-ONE'S "World Junior League", where he advanced to the second league, and won two glass balls (which means that RATELS were one man down, and YO-HEY was somewhere without HAYATA).
Naomichi Marufuji did a short Instalive video, which involved Hi69 going out for something to eat, and while he was out, Marufuji attempted to prank him by putting his ring wear in the trash, but Hi69 burst in and caught him as he had come back as he had forgotten his wallet.

On the home front, Kaito Kiyomiya signed autographs, and RAN sang at the intermission.

Kyoto KBS Hall is a magnificent venue with stained glass biblical windows; one of them is the story of Noah's Ark showing the ship on stormy waters, but with a rainbow running through it, and the sun emerging from behind a cloud.
Symbolic for the promotion that was there today.

Outside of Global League, this was a bit of a strange card in some places due to people missing.

MATCH ONE
Katsuhiko Nakajima, Hajime Ohara, Hitoshi Kumano & Yoshiki Inamura vs Mitsuya Nagai, Masao Inoue, Chang Yufeng and Lin Dongxuan

Hajime Ohara started out against Lin Dongxuan.
Today it is Yoshiki Inamura's 26th birthday, Nagai, seemingly not a respecter of any kind of thing, wished him a good one and then suplexed him.
Katsuhiko Nakajima (who a fan compared to a shaggy dog with hair over his eyes and having to rely on scent and hearing) kicked Masao Inoue, knocked him out of the ring and laughed.

After the match, Hajime Ohara got on the microphone and announced that today is Inamura's birthday, Inamura bowed to the crowd and said that he will work hard in the future.
Inamura has also created a Twitter account, he can be found at @noah_yoshiki. 

WINNER: Hajime Ohara with the Mui Bien on Masao Inoue (11 mins and 17 seconds)

MATCH TWO
Kotaro Suzuki, Yoshinari Ogawa & Junta Miyawaki vs Tadasuke, Daisuke Harada and YO-HEY

Tadasuke is a local boy, and as per his title challenge on the 25th November at Korakuen Hall, he and Suzuki tore into each other.

WINNER: YO-HEY with the Face G on Junta Miyawaki (10 minutes and 44 seconds)

MATCH THREE
Global League
Atsushi Kotoge vs Cody Hall

Some kids not joining in with the Revolutionary Fist Pumps, although others were into it...and one little girl who would play an unwitting part in the next match.

WINNER: Cody Hall with the lariat (8 minutes and 37 seconds)

MATCH FOUR

Mohammed Yone vs Maybach Taniguchi

In usual Hooligan style, the fight went outside the ring, and Taniguchi made the little girl mentioned above, cry when he threw Yone into some chairs (apparently she got upset by Cody beating Kotoge too); Taniguchi got booed for it by the crowd, and he laughed.
Mitsuya Nagai would probably have yelled at them, menaced someone nearby, and told the nearest "old bag" to shut up.

Little kids are very fond of Yone in particular; last year when 50 Funky Powers lost the GHC Heavyweight Tag Team championship, a little boy burst into tears and was comforted by his mother and people around him, who told him that Yone was strong and would get the title back.

Atsushi Kotoge in true "Revolutionary Hero" style, has sworn revenge on Taniguchi.

WINNER: Maybach Taniguchi with the Zwei Bomb (9 minutes and 9 seconds)

MATCH FIVE
Go Shiozaki & Koji Kanemoto vs Kaito Kiyomiya & Minoru Tanaka

To give some background between Minoru Tanaka and Koji Kanemoto, they were a tag team in New Japan in the early 2000s called "Jr. Stars" and where the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. Kanemoto later turned on Tanaka and joined with Masahiro Chono's stable. In total, they have held the IWGP tag four times together, and the All Japan All Asian Tag Titles twice.
So they know each other well.
As far as Noah goes, Kanemoto was Misawa's successor to the Tiger Mask gimmick in All Japan, and he has held the GHC Junior Tag Team championship once before, with Tiger Mask IV.

There were two intense fights going on today; Shiozaki and Kiyomiya tore into each other ahead of their Global League match on the 21st, and naturally the former tag team partners did too.

WINNER: Koji Kanemoto with the ankle lock on Minoru Tanaka (15 minutes and 9 seconds)

MATCH SIX

Quiet Storm vs Masa Kitamiya

WINNER: Quiet Storm with the 50cm lariat (11 minutes and 6 seconds)

MATCH SEVEN
Global League
Kenoh vs Akitoshi Saito

Both Kenoh and Akitoshi Saito have martial arts backgrounds; Saito in Karate (black belt) and Kenoh extensively in Nippon Kempo; so as you can imagine, there were a lot of gunshot kicks.

Winner: Kenoh with the diving footstomp (12 minutes and 5 seconds)

MATCH EIGHT
Global League
Takashi Sugiura vs Kazusada Higuchi

There was an intense stare off at the beginning between the two.
Later when the match went outside the ring there was an intense chop from Higuchi outside the ring
Sugiura wore Higuchi down with submission moves as well as elbow rushes and slaps

Winner: Takashi Sugiura with the Olympic Slam (14 minutes and 8 seconds)

After the match, Sugiura got on the mic and addressed the audience and said he could not afford the loss to another youngster - as Global League enters its final stages, his opponents are young people, Maybach Taniguchi and Atsushi Kotoge.
