Four wrestlers, Daisuke Harada, HAYATA, Tadasuke and YO-HEY, participated in the first IPW Junior Heavyweight Championship, which was a one day tournament, held in the UK on January 15th.
In the first round, Daisuke Harada rolled up Chris Ridgeway, HAYATA sunk Kid Lykos with the "Headache", and they entered the second round. However, Tadasuke was crushed by James Castle's flying knee to the face. YO-HEY had the advantage over Ben Basden at the start, but he was rolled up by him.
In the Harada vs HAYATA match, Harada won with the Katayama German Suplex, and later James Castle defeated Basden with the flying knee kick, and both went on to the finals.

Although Harada suffered from Castle's knee kicks in the final, he became the first IPW Junior Heavyweight Champion with attacks in waves such as German Suplex, upper knee, rolling elbow and the Katayama German Suplex.
After being handed the belt by special match witness, Doug Williams, Harada shook hands with James Castle after a good fight as the audience cheered.

Daisuke Harada is now a double champion, also holding the GHC Junior Championship.
