(NOAH) GHC Champion Kaito Kiyomiya "I felt repeated strikes in my body..." the defensive match with Naomichi Marufuji on the 10th March and the Kazushi Sakuraba Facelock.
Pro Wrestling Noah's GHC Heavyweight champion, Kaito Kiyomiya (22) learned joint skills today on the 6th March in a gym in Tokyo from Kazushi Sakuraba (49), a legend of MMA.
Kiyomiya will receive the challenge of Naomichi Marufuji (39) at the Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium on October 10th. He is being driven by a joint lock, after Marufuji deprived him of victory in the third pre-fight before the third defense.
In order to overcome the hardship of this, he has become the apprentice to mixed martial artist, Sakuraba (a legend along with Gracie Hunter), for his third defense.
In the practice, Sakuraba gave techniques such as sleeper hold, face lock and how to cut a tackle, to Kiyomiya.
About the valuable teaching from the legend, Kiyomiya responded "I felt the strikes in my body, and I want to do what I learned in the ring today in the ring and in the match."
Sakuraba, who coached him said, "If you learn the point of the locking technique, you can take the arms using your feet and back muscles, and then the power of the whole body".
In this joint teaching technique, Kiyomiya taught Sakuraba the face lock.
"The face lock basically is a tender spot. You should use the pressure there".
Kiyomiya said he was confident in his efforts to defeat Marufuji in the Sakuraba style joint technique, "until now, I was struggling, but he has taught me to press down on points."
