(NOAH) Event recap ~ Global Tag League Night Nine (Monday, April 29th 2019, Yokohama Radiant Halls, Yokohama)

It was a rainy evening during the start of Japan's "Golden Week" holiday when Noah held their second to last event of the Heisei era in Yokohama, which went super no vacancy (and according to Mohammed Yone who was asking the fans to take care when going home in the weather, rain makes the afro slump).
To explain briefly by what is known as "Heisei", The Heisei era (each Japanese emperor is given an era name, and Heisei started on 7th January 1989) comes to a close on May 1st when Emperor Akihito will abdicate for his son, Crown Prince Naruhito, whose era name will be "Reiwa". Noah of course was born within the Heisei area.
A lot of new fans came to the venue today, people taking advantage of the holiday to bring family members and friends with them. It was noted that Noah had laid on extra seating, but these were swallowed up quickly, and people bought standing room only tickets, until there were no tickets left available.
Atsushi Kotoge celebrated his 14th debut anniversary today, while Tadasuke celebrated his 12th.
Given the total drama of both the crowd and Noah feeding off of it, I don't know how the venue is going to survive another show tomorrow (which will be live on Noah's official YouTube channel)
Quiet Storm vs Seiya Morohashi vs Junta Miyawaki
Lets just say that Quiet Storm took EVERYONE out, both the rookie and the veteran.
Good opening match.
WINNER: Quiet Storm with the 50cm lariat on Seiya Morohashi (8 minutes and 1 second)
Mohammed Yone & The Backbreakers (Hajime Ohara & Hitoshi Kumano) vs RATELS (Daisuke Harada, Tadasuke & HAYATA)
"Yone today...something has gotten bigger....his afro"
Daisuke Harada was uncomplimentary about Hitoshi Kumano in his post match promo saying that nothing has changed since the IPW Junior heavyweight match, and as nothing had changed, and he beat him so easily, he felt he should be "disqualified" from entering Global Junior League.
Tadasuke, however, said that heading into his 13th year in wrestling, he wanted to "Disco Fever".

The Return of The Dark Agents (Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue) vs THE TOUGH (Masa Kitamiya & Yoshiki Inamura)

In a huge twist today, and despite The Dark Agents being dominant, Yoshiki Inamura used Dr Death Steve William's move, the "Oklahoma Stampede" and picked up his first win over a senior.
Yokohama went absolutely insane for him, with people getting out of their chairs and on their feet to cheer.
WINNER: Yoshiki Inamura with the Oklahoma Stampede on Masao Inoue (14 minutes and 18 seconds)

The Inferno (Maybach Taniguchi & Yuji Hino) vs The Revolutionary Cloak Heroes (Atsushi Kotoge & Mitsuya Nagai)
Lots of paper tape for Atsushi Kotoge's debut anniversary.
Despite his "its not good education for the children", Atsushi Kotoge made an exception today, and threw Nagai's cloak to him, so he could choke one of The Inferno. Additionally, Kotoge also made no comment about Nagai using his chain as a corner rope (senior Referee Nishinaga saw it differently though, and Nagai was told off about it).
The chain also came into play when the fight went outside the ring and turned comical as the Sasumata wielded by Taniguchi, fought with the chain, wielded by Nagai.
Anniversary or no anniversary, Taniguchi destroyed Kotoge.
WINNER: Maybach Taniguchi with the Maybach Bomb on Atsushi Kotoge (15 minutes and 1 second)
KAIOH (Kaito Kiyomiya & Kenoh), Minoru Tanaka & Hi69 vs Naomichi Marufuji, Shiro Koshinaka & Stinger (Yoshinari Ogawa & YO-HEY)
For Kenoh (whom was taped today on the shoulder and arm which is unusual for him), this was round two with his obsession, Naomichi Marufuji, in almost as many days.
Marufuji (who has learned that to really rattle Kenoh, just be sarcastic to him), leaned on the ropes ignoring him, and so Kenoh stalked over to him and stuck his fist in his face.
Kenoh later also shrieked at Marufuji that the Kawada Kicks "did not hurt"....in which case its probably him telling the milder more level headed Marufuji that, and not short fused Toshiaki Kawada...
There was also a vicious chop kick battle between them.
YO-HEY also got caught in a kick chop battle, but between KAIOH. Hi69 also got chopped, albeit with Marufuji pulling his t-shirt over his head to do it.
When Marufuji and Kiyomiya faced off, it was hard to know who was more popular with the crowd with the arena seemingly split in half between them both.
Despite all the provocation, Marufuji generally still ignored Kenoh, and later to really wind him, sat on the ropes to hold them open like a junior would a senior.
Kenoh (even though his team had won) was not impressed.
At the end of the match, KAIOH did their usual pose, with Minoru Tanaka and Hi69 standing a little further back either side and kind of joining in, with Minoru Tanaka pulling a silly pose at one point and Hi69 laughing.
WINNER: Kaito Kiyomiya with the Tiger Suplex on YO-HEY (18 minutes and 18 seconds)
AXIZ (Go Shiozaki & Kaito Kiyomiya) vs The Sugiura Army (Takashi Sugiura & KAZMA SAKAMOTO)
"The main event of AXIZ vs Sugiura and KAZMA was insanely intense.
This is called a NOAH fight."
VERY hard hitting match, and it wasn't just Shiozaki vs Sugiura that was like something out of "The Golden Era" age of matches. Not one person in this match held back in any way, and Sugiura stood in the ring at the start and stared...not even moving a muscle...
At one point the fight went outside the ring, with Sugiura BATTERING Shiozaki.
WINNER: Katsuhiko Nakajima with the Vertical Spike on KAZMA SAKAMOTO (24 minutes and 46 seconds)
