(NOAH) EVENT RECAP ~ NOAH the SPIRIT 2019 - Esupowaru Isanuma, Saitama, Sunday May 12th 2019 (NIGHT TWO)
As the fans arrived at the venue the 50 Funky Powers Disco ball was spinning (and they also noticed that there was no iron fencing around the ring today).
Katsuhiko Nakajima was on autograph duty, Takashi Sugiura (and others) came out during the interval.
MATCH ONE
50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm) & Kouki Iwasaki vs The Return of The Dark Agents (Masao Inoue & Akitoshi Saito) & Seiya Morohashi.
The lights dimmed, and the Disco ball sped up for 50 Funky Powers entry, Kouki Iwasaki got into the mood by wearing neon glasses which lit up in the dark.
Disco aside, it didn't take Quiet Storm long to lock in the Full Nelson on Masao Inoue.
Fun opening match with lots of laughter, Inoue on form today.
WINNER: Mohammed Yone with the Funky Buster Bomb on Seiya Morohashi (13 minutes and 17 seconds)
"The Revolutionary Showdown"
Mitsuya Nagai vs Atsushi Kotoge
"Show me the spirit of the hero"
(Mitsuya Nagai to Atsushi Kotoge)
Mitsuya Nagai came out first, and then stood staring and waiting for Kotoge to come to the ring (armed with cloak and chain), and right from the moment the bell sounded, he took it to him.
Fight went into the crowd as Nagai led Kotoge along with both the chain and the cloak wrapped around his head and neck, and threw him into some chairs, before storming back to the ring, and a little child burst into tears.
Nagai was furious, with Kotoge hardly getting a shot in.
WINNER: Mitsuya Nagai with the Reverse Full Nelson\ROD (10 minutes and 53 seconds)
Go Shiozaki vs Hi69
Naturally, Hi69 vs Go Shiozaki did not last long, and Shiozaki finished with the lariat. However, he was noted to be holding his shoulder immediately afterwards (which is heavily taped).
WINNER: Go Shiozaki with the lariat (4 minutes and 29 seconds)
MATCH FOUR
Katsuhiko Nakajima & Hitoshi Kumano vs The Sugiura Army (Takashi Sugiura & Hajime Ohara)
Nakajima kicked Sugiura off the apron, and into the crowd.
Hajime Ohara put on a rare display of bad language by telling Kumano to, "get up, you bastard!"
Very intense fight between Nakajima and Sugiura.
WINNER: Katsuhiko Nakajima with the Vertical Spike on Hajime Ohara (14 minutes and 21 seconds)
After the match, Nakajima held up the belt to the crowd, and then apparently demanded they applaud him!
MATCH FIVE
Stinger (Yoshinari Ogawa & Kotari Suzuki) & Keisuke Ishii vs RATELS (Daisuke Harada, Tadasuke & HAYATA).
Despite Daisuke Harada attacking him last time, Yoshinari Ogawa asked him for another handshake (I don't know if Harada took it or not though), but whatever happened at the end of the match, RATELS did their handshake.
Tadasuke got chopped by Ishii.
The theme of bad language continued, as Yoshinari Ogawa (true to his "Golden Era" persona), gave RATELS the middle finger.
WINNER: Tadasuke via reversal of The Endless Waltz on Kotaro Suzuki\PAC (13 minutes and 46 seconds)
With two wins now over Stinger, Tadasuke is manic, saying "I cannot control myself" and posting the picture of the crazy face ikon.
Kaito Kiyomiya, Shuhei Taniguchi & Junta Miyawaki vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Masa Kitamiya & Yoshiki Inamura)
"Junta and Inamura, heading towards a bright future"
Atsushi Kotoge came out to second the others in Kongoh.
The bell sounded and Kenoh (with a heavily taped shoulder) and Kaito Kiyomiya laid into each other (they had also been squaring up to each other the moment they got in the ring, and Kenoh stuck his fist in Kiyomiya's face)
Fight went into the crowd with Kenoh kicking Kiyomiya (no children cried this time apparently!)
Junta Miyawaki was outside the ring and holding his shoulder, Kaito Kiyomiya knelt down by him and asked him if he was okay?
Kongoh have a tandem move, whereby Kitamiya (with the assist from Inamura) slam their opponent from the top turnbuckle, with Kenoh following up with the Diving Footstamp for the win.
WINNER: Kenoh with the diving footstamp on Junta Miyawaki (18 minutes and 11 seconds)
Kenoh then went to point to LIDET'S banner, but there was not one hanging in the hall that day! Kenoh, however, claimed that they had REMOVED it because he was always pointing at it...
