Noah's Global Junior Tag League kicked off at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on the 28th, with Junta Miyawaki (21) and Seiya Morohashi (41) facing former tag team champions, Hi69 (37) and Minoru Tanaka (46). For Miyawaki, it was a great honor to defeat the pair, and won with delight after a year and nine months of debut.
Miyawaki suffered from a tandem attack of the former champions attack, and that singularly of Minoru Tanaka. but he took the chance, and took the three counts from Hi69 with the jackknife. This is his first ever since his debut.
A big punk rock fan of The Clash, he has chosen the famous song, "White Riot", as is entry theme. Miyawaki's chosen punk rock is always to be heard flowing in the dojo.
His parents were big rock fans, and had chosen names such as "Kiyoshiro" (Imawano), "Hiroto" (Kōmoto) and "Benjie" (Ken Asai) were listed as candidates. In the end, he was named after Junta Mori (54), the guitarist of JUN SKY WALKER (S), who was popular at the time.
Junta's nickname is "Orange Riot" after the color of his costume.
Speaking of The Clash and lead vocalist Joe Strummer, Miyawaki, screamed in victory after his first win, "I want to tell Joe in heaven of the victory".
Elsewhere, the junior tag champions, Yoshinari Ogawa (52) and Kotaro Suzuki (40), finished their match in a double count out with YO-HEY (31) and HAYATA (31), who had regained their ties. YO-HEY had split from HAYATA last December, and then joined Ogawa-gun, but rejoined with HAYATA before the league match.
In order to punish the traitor, Ogawa-gun thoroughly punished YO-HEY for over ten minutes. However, during a melee where emotions became entangled, it became a fierce fight which could not be settled. Immediately after Ogawa had backdropped YO-HEY outside the ring, it became a litany of regret.
Ogawa says, "I am aware that we won, and that is fine. From the start, he did not fit in with myself and Kotaro, and I draw the line at the answer. It cannot be finished as it is with only "one point".
There was no sign of progression.
The Global Junior Tag League finals will be held in Osaka on June 13th.
