(NOAH) Event recap ~ "NOAH the SPIRIT 2019" Night 1 (Espowar Isanuma, Saitama, September 21st 2019)

Noah held their first show after the drama and excitement of the finals of N-1 VICTORY at Korakuen Hall, at a small venue in Saitama. The 50 Funky Powers disco ball was spinning as the fans came into the hall.

Naomichi Marufuji groaned there was bad traffic on the way to the venue, with Masao Inoue apparently worried about getting lost (which is a good thing he got there on time as he and Saito had to do pictures for the fan club, during which a fan asked if they could do The Dark Agents Pose. Saito said there wasn't one, and suggested that they point at Inoue).

HAYATA is absent today (and will be absent again on Monday 23rd) as he is suffering influenza. YO-HEY was asked how Wife was by fans. Daisuke Harada had done another Boot Camp session prior to the event starting.

The new IPW Junior Heavyweight champion, Atsushi Kotoge was at the autograph stand.

MATCH ONE
50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm) vs Seiya Morohashi & Keisuke Ishii

The lights dimmed, "Boogie Wonderland" played, and Yone came out in his flashing glasses.
Ishii tried to chop Yone. It didn't work.

WINNER: Quiet Storm with the 50cm Lariat on Seiya Morohashi (9 minutes, 21 seconds)

MATCH TWO
Takashi Sugiura vs Hitoshi Kumano

Hitoshi Kumano managed to fight back against the onslaught his hero gave to him, and Sugiura was surprised at the power of his counter attacks. At one point the fight went outside the ring, and Sugiura slammed Kumano to the floor.
The junior Kumano showed his great strength to the heavyweight Sugiura by putting him in the Argentina Backbreaker.

WINNER: Takashi Sugiura with the Olympic Slam (10 minutes, 43 seconds)

MATCH THREE
RATELS (Daisuke Harada, Tadasuke & YO-HEY) vs Hi69, Minoru Tanaka & Junta Miyawaki.

Sadly, Tadasuke didn't wear his glasses today...but Junta Miyawaki managed to disrupt his "Oh!" (RATELS were not impressed).
HAYATA is absent today, but RATELS saw the humor in the situation, and after Daisuke Harada did one of his moves, Tadasuke and YO-HEY told him to pose like HAYATA.
Which he did.

Junta Miyawaki managed to throw YO-HEY around (it was like the Misawa vs Marufuji match with Marufuji being thrown high into the air and half across the ring by Misawa using a Monkey Flip), and followed it up with a massive top turnbuckle dropkick, but unfortunately YO-HEY got the pin over him.
Said to be a fun and intense match, which YO-HEY called "payback" against Minoru Tanaka.

WINNER: YO-HEY with the Boston Crab on Junta Miyawaki (10 minutes, 31 seconds)

RATELS did their three man pose at the end, with YO-HEY showing off his Harada Boot Camp muscles (the training session is going to appear in "Weekly Pro", and HAYATA is refusing to take part in it! I am wondering if Harada has had a hand in getting YO-HEY back on track after his lung injury, and this has been turned into a series).

MATCH FOUR
STINGER (Yoshinari Ogawa, Kotaro Suzuki & Atsushi Kotoge) vs The Sugiura Army (Hajime Ohara, NOSAWA Rongai & Kinya Okada)

Hajime Ohara came to the ring with the Sugiura Army towel wrapped around his right wrist, and the Shiba Inu dog cushion clipped to his waist. He later clipped them to the ring poles with the Shiba Inu clips.

NOSAWA offered Kotaro Suzuki a sarcastic handshake, and then a fight broke out (and went out of the ring) as soon as the bell rang.
In the ring Atsushi Kotoge (who is looking slightly manic), got Ohara in his rope hold before Okada got in the ring and did quite well against him. Okada vs Ogawa was a different story, however.

WINNER: Kotaro Suzuki with the Tiger Driver on Hajime Ohara (10 minutes, 58 seconds)

YO-HEY had apparently vanished, but Daisuke Harada and Tadasuke stayed on after the merchandise signing session (which everyone stampeded for) to watch the match as they will face the winners of the tag title match.

MATCH SIX
AXIZ (Katsuhiko Nakajima & Go Shiozaki) vs The Return of The Dark Agents (Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue)

Masao Inoue was kind enough to let Akitoshi Saito start the match against Katsuhiko Nakajima. However, Inoue couldn't avoid them forever, and when he did get in the ring he tried to give Nakajima his own version of the infamous soccer kicks.
It didn't go down well, and Inoue wound up regretting it as he got to experience the real thing. Then Go Shiozaki chopped him and he screamed, "STOP!"
Afterwards, Inoue screamed "WAIT" and fell on the floor, making the referee pause the match. Again, stalling tactics did not make any difference.

Said to be a very fun match with MASAOWORLD being on top form.

WINNER: Katsuhiko Nakajima with the vertical spike on Masao Inoue (14 minutes, 49 seconds)

Victorious, Nakajima walked around the ring doing his pose, with Shiozaki wandering off to the entryway to wait for him where they both did the pose with the belts.

MATCH SEVEN
Kaito Kiyomiya, Shuhei Taniguchi & Naomichi Marufuji vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Masa Kitamiya & Yoshiki Inamura)

Marufuji stepped back to watch Kiyomiya and Kenoh face up, and Kenoh was announced as the "N-1 Victory" winner.
Match started with Kiyomiya and Kenoh.

Even though Muta\Mutoh was not in the match (and will not be back in Noah until Sumo Hall), Marufuji took the opportunity to mimic him, which was not appreciated by Kenoh who kicked him. He also did Muta's elbow drop.

WINNER: Kaito Kiyomiya via Strech Plum type facelock on Yoshiki Inamura (16 minutes and 46 seconds)

Kiyomiya's new move (a "strange stretch" according to Kenoh), which makes it look like he is going for the Tiger Suplex, he says has been inspired by Mitsuharu Misawa's face lock, and Toshiaki Kawada's stretch plum. Marufuji weighed in with some advice and said that he had experienced both and knew the pain involved. However, as it wasn't possible for Kiyomiya to do the same, he should go and speak with Kawada at his Ramen house.

After the match Kiyomiya (sadly) gave a generic promo, thanking everyone for coming today, saying he would defend the belt at Sumo Hall, and show a new view.
