Event recap ~ Premium Prelude, Oyama City Cultural Center Small Hall, Oyama, Tochigi (Night 2, 9th October 2019)

"PREMIUM PRELUDE 2019" took another step towards the big event at Sumo Hall today when Noah bought the show to Oyama City Cultural Center Small Hall, Oyama, Tochigi.

Although the venue was not the easiest to get to, it was said to have that bucolic "big sky feel" (this basically means that the sky is so immense, it dwarfs everything else), and it had a scent of earth from the mountains in the air. Katsuhiko Nakajima commented later on the soft night autumn breeze (at 3am), Atsushi Kotoge talked about the beautiful shrine and scenery, and RATELS probably spent the evening playing "Dragon Quest", with YO-HEY commenting how great it was for "raids" in the area.

Inside the venue someone (probably Hajime Ohara) had bought a Shiba Inu plush and sat it on top of the Sugiura Army t-shirts. The plush was also voice activated and so it nodded and made barking noises. Hajime Ohara naturally was activating it when he was on merchandise duty after the event.

The 50 Funky Powers Disco Ball was also dangling from the ceiling, but sadly it did not spin today.

Noah's trainee was at ringside, one fan called out to him wishing him luck for his (eventual) debut.

AXIZ (who have both had their hair cut, which almost makes them a less insane version of HAYATA & YO-HEY who tend to do the same thing) and Naomichi Marufuji manned the Noah Ark fan club pictures today.

Unfortunately, I don't have any details on the main event aside from who won, or today's attendance as Noah have not updated the official site.

MATCH ONE
Junta Miyawaki vs Kinya Okada

Junta Miyawaki (complete with new arm submission maneuver) defeated Kinya Okada. He didn't defeat a senior, rather someone who he is senior to, but nevertheless this is his first singles win and his first step towards getting a foothold and defeating one of his seniors.
Kenoh and Masao Inoue were seen watching.

WINNER: Junta Miyawaki via submisson with Arm Criss-Cross (7 minutes, 42 seconds)

MATCH TWO
Hitoshi Kumano vs Sonico

"Sonico today was the best I have seen".

Sonico (clad in black which suited him) was said to have had an outstanding singles match today, even if he did bite Hitoshi Kumano at one point!
Some of the roster were seen watching.

WINNER: Hitoshi Kumano with the Argentinian German Suplex Hold (7 minutes, 14 seconds)

MATCH THREE
STINGER (Yoshinari Ogawa, Kotaro Suzuki, Kotaro Suzuki and Chris Ridgeway) vs RATELS (HAYATA, Daisuke Harada, Tadasuke & YO-HEY)

RATELS entered to Tadasuke's music.
Very fast paced match which apparently even the official ringside photographers had trouble with as both RATELS and STINGER (including the Baba generation Yoshinari Ogawa) moved at the speed of light. However, STINGER were back to their old tricks, and the match went to a count-out
between the arch rivals, Yoshinari Ogawa and Daisuke Harada. The high spot of the match was YO-HEY & HAYATA doing a coordinated double somersault over the top rope to the outside on STINGER who were fighting with Tadasuke and Daisuke Harada.

Yoshinari "Rat Boy" Ogawa was up to his old tricks again, as he pulled Harada out of the ring again as the count neared twenty. Afterwards another fight broke out, which ended with Ogawa driving his knee repeatedly into Harada's crotch.

WINNER: Yoshinari Ogawa after Daisuke Harada was counted out (13 minutes, 51 seconds)

Kenoh (as we will see later) wasn't the only one to complain of favoritism, Ogawa accused RATELS of it, especially since YO-HEY asked and was given a rematch against HAYATA (which in all fairness HAYATA did say that he could have), and Daisuke Harada and Tadasuke were given a rematch for the tag titles.
Interestingly, Ogawa kept up his tirade about the juniors being neglected for the heavyweights. Ogawa is the most senior of the juniors and indeed on the roster, so his words are going to have clout.

MATCH FOUR
The Sugiura Army (Takashi Sugiura & Hajime Ohara) vs The Return of The Dark Agents (Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue)

Naturally, Takashi Sugiura (a dog loving cyborg) vs Masao Inoue (an old bumbling veteran with gout, who once boarded an internal flight with his belongings in a trash bag), is very funny, and today was no exception. The audience were very amused by their interaction today, although Sugiura was probably a little less impressed by Inoue, who tried to use his wind up punch on him.
Hajime Ohara (who seems to be having a lot of heavyweight matches recently for someone who is a proud junior) did his own version of the Katsuhiko Nakajima rope choke. He also smooshed Masao Inoue's face around!

WINNER: Takashi Sugiura with the schoolboy pin on Masao Inoue (10 minutes, 55 seconds)

MATCH FIVE
AXIZ (Katsuhiko Nakajima & Go Shiozaki) & Naomichi Marufuji vs Shuhei Taniguchi & 50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm)

Naomichi Marufuji seemingly managed to get along with AXIZ (although it was uneasy and I don't think they attacked him), but one lucky fan managed to snap a picture of Marufuji with an evil grin when he got Taniguchi in a headlock.
Quiet Storm went toe to toe with Marufuji, exchanging chops, and he managed to knock him down.

WINNER: Katsuhiko Nakajima with the Vertical Spike on Quiet Storm (14 minutes, 44 seconds)

MATCH SIX
Kaito Kiyomiya, Hi69 & Minoru Tanaka vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Masa Kitamiya & Yoshiki Inamura)

Kongoh found themselves huddling in a corner before the match began as a local Idol group entered the ring, and handed Kaito Kiyomiya's team some flowers. They also posed for pictures with them.
Kenoh called this "a power play" and later "bullying and harassment by LIDET" and after the match addressed the crowd saying that when he returned to Oyama, he would be bringing the belt he would defeat Kiyomiya for at Sumo Hall, so LIDET (and the Oyama fuckers) had better start putting together his bouquet!

WINNER: Masa Kitamiya with the win over Hi69
