There is little remaining of 2019, are you all about watching the last spurt of professional wrestling? As we approach the New Year's holidays, each promotion announceS their big matches one after the other!

The times have changed now from Showa and Heisei and now to Reiwa, but in the professional wrestling world, many famous tags have been born over all the eras, and now my favorite tag team is Pro Wrestling Noah's Go Shiozaki and Katsuhiko Nakajima's "AXIZ".
Naturally they have their individual strengths, but the tag of the two people who will be celebrating their 15th anniversary this year are exceptionally compatible, and I will look into it from when it started during that famous match.
Today, I would like to introduce you to "AXIZ".

Their individual teachers are indispensable when talking about AXIZ, and so first of all I would like to take a look at the 2005 fierce fight between them, Kenta Kobashi vs Kensuke Sasaki. This match, in which there was a total of 218 chops, has made it a famous match in professional wrestling. At the time, Go Shiozaki and Katsuhiko Nakajima, (who would form AXIZ 13 years later), stood opposite each other as seconds.

KENTA KOBASHI & KENSUKE SASAKI

It's a great match, no matter how many times you see it.
(After this match, Kobashi appeared in an advert for Donbei (a cup noodle company), and talked to the instructor who was making the felt doll about it)

Four months after the confrontation between the teachers, another fight, but this time tagging with their students, happened.

After this the two began their own separate paths.
After several expeditions overseas Go Shiozaki returned to Japan and became the GHC Heavyweight Champion the day after his tag partner, Mitsuharu Misawa, passed away. He was Misawa's last tag partner. As Noah's figurehead, he participated in New Japan's G1, where he fought in many matches against Shinsuke Nakamura.
Once he left Noah he became a free agent, and joined All Japan Pro Wrestling, where he tagged with Kento Miyahara, the current Triple Crown champion, and the younger student to Nakajima. After winning the Royal Road Tournament, and winning the Triple Crown, he left All Japan and returned to Pro Wrestling Noah in 2016.

Nakajima, who had mainly wrestled in All Japan, started participating in Noah from around 2008, in addition to the history made in the tag with teacher Kensuke, he also teamed with Kota Ibushi, and fellow Kensuke Office junior, Kento Miyahara.
Going solo he became the GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion the following year when he began to participate in Noah alone, and showed a strong presence. He joined Noah in 2015 after taking his first win over his teacher Kensuke in 2014, it was a year before Shiozaki returned.

To move away from the story a little bit, but both had title matches with KENTA during this period, which were personally unforgettable.

GO SHIOZAKI VS KENTA

KATSUHIKO NAKAJIMA vs KENTA

Until they both joined Noah and formed AXIZ in 2018, both wrestlers were active in single and tag matches.

Let me introduce some of their individual successes, starting with Noah's overwhelming presence of a singles match with Takashi Sugiura.

The title match between them before the AXIZ formation was amazing.

In 2018, the two decided to finally form a tag, and began their rapid advance as "AXIZ".

They enhance each other, the team name is beautiful, strong, and perfect for collaboration. I sincerely hope that they will continue to produce famous matches.

AXIZ vs THE TOUGH (Masa Kitamiya & Yoshiki Inamura)

This is my favorite combination attack. Although it is a simple one, the destructive power is so painful to watch, it makes you want to cover your eyes.

So, the reason why I have introduced AXIZ at this time is because on December 3rd they will have a match to commemorate the 15th anniversary of their debut, and the 1st anniversary of AXIZ, and after a while they will have a singles match.

For the fans, the showdown will be an unbelievable battle. The culmination of fifteen years for these two will be hard hit, and I think the world will be fascinated by the love for professional wrestling. I can't wait for the day to come! Please make sure to gather at Korakuen Hall on Tuesday December 3rd, and witness this historical moment.
