(NOAH) EVENT RECAP ~ Akita Terrsa, Akita ~ 11th December 2019 ("STARTING OVER 2019")
After finishing in Morioka, Noah drove a couple of hours to Akita on the west coast of Japan across frozen countryside. When they got to Akita, Takashi Sugiura (who later bought and wore proudly a t-shirt with an Akita dog on it), stalked Masao Inoue and filmed him limping back to the hotel (unintentionally, Tadasuke is leaving the same time as they arrive), which he titled "today the old man takes a morning walk".
At the venue, Monocreate returned with their stall. It is hoped that they may come to some of the other venues in the country too, as they have a good franchise going in selling snack food, especially for venues in regions like today when getting to the venue is difficult. Despite the difficulties in getting there in winter weather (if you don't drive it's a twenty minute walk from the station), one fan said that this was the first time in ten years that they had seen Noah live. It looks like everywhere, Noah are attracting old fans back.
I am afraid that this is going to be another one of those times when I don't have too much to report on about what happened at the event, but I am lucky that I have been able to present something on this tour, rather than nothing.
MATCH ONE
Masa Kitamiya vs Kinya Okada
WINNER: Masa Kitamiya with the Boston Crab (8 minutes, 32 seconds)
MATCH TWO
50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm) vs Akitoshi Saito & Junta Miyawaki
Yone threw some particularly vicious chops today apparently, which were described as "resounding" throughout the venue
WINNER: Quiet Storm with the 50cm lariat on Junta Miyawaki (10 minutes, 43 seconds)
MATCH THREE
Minoru Tanaka & Dragon Bain vs Hi69 & El Hijo de Canis Lupus
WINNER: Dragon Bane with the 630 Bane
MATCH FOUR
The Sugiura Army (Takashi Sugiura & Hajime Ohara) vs Kenoh & Yoshiki Inamura
WINNER: Takashi Sugiura with the Olympic Slam on Yoshiki Inamura
After the match, Masa Kitamiya (who had been seconding Kongoh) got into the ring and faced Takashi Sugiura. Sugiura (looking boss with his gum shield clenched in his mouth like a cigar), faced him down and held up the belt. Later Sugiura wrote on Twitter that "Kitamiya-kun" was weak, and he couldn't even rise to the GHC National pre-matches, and that he wanted to see something more out of him than just a "scary face".
MATCH FIVE
Kaito Kiyomiya, Shuhei Taniguchi & Masao Inoue vs Kumazix (Katsuhiko Nakajima, Go Shiozaki & Hitoshi Kumano)
Mohammed Yone was not the only person who threw harsh chops today, Go Shiozaki's were said to be like a blast of heat, and Masao Inoue (who got burnt by them) was shrieking! Shiozaki and Kaito Kiyomiya naturally faced off, Kiyomiya held the belt up to him as the match began, and then again at the end when they got in each others faces, with Shiozaki pointing at the GHC Heavyweight.
WINNER: Go Shiozaki with the Short Range Go Lariat on Masao Inoue (18 minutes, 27 second)
MATCH SIX
Naomichi Marufuji & STINGER (Yoshinari Ogawa, Kotaro Suzuki & Atsushi Kotoge) vs RATELS (HAYATA, Daisuke Harada, Tadasuke & YO-HEY)
I don't think I need to tell you how this went down, as HAYATA got it from Yoshinari Ogawa (who apparently made him scream, when he had him in a submission outside the ring), and also from Naomichi Marufuji, who decided to turn a few of the screws himself. Despite everything that Ogawa had put him through, HAYATA not quitting has played into HAYATA'S hands, as despite the laughter from Ogawa, HAYATA is getting under his skin...HAYATA knows that he is getting from Ogawa, but does Ogawa know what he is going to be getting from HAYATA?
WINNER: Atsushi Kotoge with the Killswitch on Tadasuke (26 minutes, 33 seconds)
ATTENDANCE: Not stated
WITH THANKS TO: Hatako, Big Mike, Reoniku
