(NOAH) EVENT RECAP ~ Kiramesse Numazu ~ 22nd December 2019 ("STARTING OVER 2019")

Noah held their last show of 2019 (and by "last show" I mean regular roster show as the Sugiura Army produce will be technically the last show of 2019, but not all the roster are on it), today in Kiramesse Numazu, which was overlooked by a wintry cloudy Mount Fuji, with a "Fan Thanksgiving" event of autographs and pictures held afterwards. Some fans came to the show today for the first time in several years, and many people said they would certainly be coming back next time.
Speaking of the roster, there seems to be a new addition today in the form of a new trainee. We don't know his name yet, but he seems to be taller than the other boy (Yano, who everyone is waiting for the announcement of his debut), and it is thought that he may debut as a heavyweight, but to see a new trainee caused a lot of excitement.
Lets just hope he sticks the hard life out, and stays.

YO-HEY celebrated his 11th anniversary in wrestling today, having debuted in DragonGate in 2008. He posted a typically crazy picture of himself on a tractor (he grew up on a farm in rural Japan) wearing a pink Star Wars t-shirt.

Prior to the event starting, Daisuke Harada (still holding the IPW belt), Naomichi Marufuji and Kaito Kiyomiya (who had a long line of people), did the Noah's Ark fanclub sessions, with AXIZ (wearing their matching tracksuits) signing autographs. Go Shiozaki appears to have gone ash blonde.
Junta Miyawaki did not help out at ringside, but the poor boy was seen with his arm in a sling due to his shoulder injury (dislocation), helping out at the merchandise, and later autographs and photo sessions afterwards.

At the end of the event, and keeping true to what Kiyoshi Tamura said about him being humble and having a low profile, Noah's President, Akihiro Takeda, was seen helping the ring crew to take the ring down.

MATCH ONE
Shuhei Taniguchi vs Kinya Okada

This was the only singles match on the card today, which changed due to Junta Miyawaki injury's.
Kinya Okada fought with good elbows, and even managed to slam Taniguchi at one point, but ultimately age and experience won over youth and inexperience.

WINNER: Shuhei Taniguchi with a diving body press (8 minutes, 32 seconds)

MATCH TWO
50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm) vs The Anti-Wrestlers Alliance (Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue)

Said to be a good match, especially with the finale, the Yone\Inoue interactions (the famous spot where Yone allows himself to have everyone thrown into him while in the corner, except Inoue, who he puts his boot up against with a weary look on his face), and Saito's counter of Yone's move into the Suicidees

WINNER: Akitoshi Saito with the Suicidees (8 minutes, 32 seconds)

MATCH THREE
Minoru Tanaka & Seiya Morohashi vs Haō and Niō

The new Kongoh tag-team made their official debut today (albeit it Niō with taped shoulder), and Niō debuted a new finisher.

Minoru Tanaka stood and glared at his former partner (Niō), and then told Seiya Morohashi that he was going to be the one to start, and so he and Niō kicked off the match.

WINNER: Niō with the Cancun Tornado on Seiya Morohashi (10 minutes, 48 seconds)

MATCH FOUR
The Sugiura Army (Takashi Sugiura, Hajime Ohara & NOSWA Rongai) vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Masa Kitamiya & Yoshiki Inamura)

Sugiura held up the red belt to Kitamiya, and they started off, soon after the bell rang Kitamiya bust Sugiura open with a headbutt. This is the last pre-match between them before the title match at the big Korakuen Hall show on 4th January 2020.

WINNER: Masa Kitamiya with the Saito Suplex (14 minutes, 27 seconds)

As Takashi Sugiura lay on the floor, Masa Kitamiya took the belt and posed with it on his shoulder, while doing the cocky pose on Sugiura (he had one foot placed on his chest). Afterwards, Kinya Okada helped a blooded Sugiura out of the ring.

MATCH FIVE
RATELS (HAYATA, YO-HEY & Tadasuke) vs STINGER (Yoshinari Ogawa, Kotaro Suzuki and Atsushi Kotoge)

The three of RATELS came out to Tadasuke's entry.
Despite the incident at Noah's last show, Yoshinari Ogawa seemed to be fine (angry but fine), and he and HAYATA started off. Although no one mentioned anything, its likely that Ogawa put the screws to him today, especially as HAYATA was seen limping afterwards at the Fan Event.

WINNER: Atsushi Kotoge with the Killswitch on YO-HEY (11 minutes, 58 seconds)

This match was more significant for what happened after it, rather than in it.

After Kotoge got the win over YO-HEY, STINGER stood and posed with the belts (by that I mean the GHC Junior belt too, which was held by a laughing Ogawa), RATELS then attacked and the fight between HAYATA and Ogawa went backstage. Alone in the ring, Kotaro Suzuki and Atsushi Kotoge were blindsided by an attacking Kongoh, as Haō and Niō stormed the ring and beat up them (I think Niō might actually have done the Killswitch on Kotoge), and bent over them holding the belts. It is rare to see this happen in Noah, and when it does happen, its usually by heel teams.

MATCH SIX
Kaito Kiyomiya, Naomichi Marufuji & Daisuke Harada vs Kumaxiz (Go Shiozaki, Katsuhiko Nakajima & Hitoshi Kumano).

Kaito Kiyomiya and Go Shiozaki started the match, with Daisuke Harada and Naomichi Marufuji maintaining a sense of distance (although at the end of the match they were seen to be talking). Marufuji has taken to loudly addressing Kiyomiya as "champ" when in the ring.

Despite the junior presence in this match, and juniors always being a heavyweight target, it was Kiyomiya got the dreaded AXIZ kick\chop sandwich. A fan described this as his being their "prey".

I think that Katsuhiko Nakajima's older brother might also have been in the crowd. Nakajima gave him a look when he started leading the calls for Marufuji!

WINNER: Kaito Kiyomiya with the Tiger Suplex on Go Shiozaki (20 minutes, 38 seconds)

Kaito Kiyomiya (in a further personality change away from the polite champion with a sense of fair play and decency), stood over Go Shiozaki and held the belt up to him, later he was seen to be laughing about what had happened as he pointed to the title!

When everyone had left the ring, Kiyomiya then made a short speech, before going round ringside and meeting fans.

"I have protected this belt for a year, and with everyone's expectations, I cannot afford to lose this belt next year in the first defence. Next year, Noah will celebrate its 20th anniversary. I hope to steer the rudder in 2020! When we return to Numazu next time, I will show a new scenery to the crowded venue!"

Then the Fan Festival began.
The wrestlers grouped together, and stood at eight tables (Naomichi Marufuji and 50 Funky Powers, Kaito Kiyomiya and Shuhei Taniguchi,RATELS, STINGER, Kongoh, The Anti Wrestlers Alliance, The Sugiura Army and AXIZ), where fans could have autographs and pose for pictures.

~ At the RATELS booth, YO-HEY looked to have an ice pack strapped to his neck\shoulder, and HAYATA came limping on his side right at the end of the video.
~ Kongoh made a rare appearance, and Kenoh was seen to be smiling!
~ Hajime Ohara wore Christmas themed pants.
~ STINGER (looking suitably sinister all in black) were a man down (Chris Ridgeway is absent), and while Naomichi Marufuji went bare chested, Kiyomiya wore t-shirt and ring pants, and others only t-shirts, Yoshinari Ogawa wore a big thick duffle coat in a venue I am told is heated.
~ The AXIZ booth was never shown on the official Noah Twitter, and someone said that Go Shiozaki was absent. I don't know if this was because he wasn't there at that time, or because he wasn't there at all. However, I did believe he was there eventually.
