(NOAH) Event recap ~ Global Junior League 2020, Night 3, Act City Hamamatsu (12th January 2020)

Veni, vidi, vici ("I came, I saw, I conquered.")

A few hours prior to the Noah event, Katsuhiko Nakajima became the W-1 champion, when he defeated Daiki Inaba. He was challenged by Shotaro Ashino, with the match set for 12th February at Korakuen Hall. It should be pointed out, however, that Nakajima has already started being sarcastic and disrespectful, by tossing the belt out of the ring when it was awarded to him. He told Ashino he would only have the title match if the fans wanted it, and made a backstage comment along the lines of the belt which he has been "saddled" with is unimportant, and that what fans and wrestlers in W-1 have built up, will soon collapse.

Meanwhile in Noah...

Takashi Sugiura spent from 5:45am trolling Masao Inoue and Shuhei Taniguchi about having gout, by posting pictures of what is bad to eat when having gout, saying he would eat good food for the people who have gout, and then saying if he ever had gout and had to miss time, he would ask the company to invent some other excuse.

YO-HEY is again absent today due to injury, and so Tadasuke (who wore sunglasses to the Fan Club session, in January, in freezing cold weather and inside) and HAYATA (who hid behind the Noah sign) took over for him. Tadasuke said that they were kind of similar, they both had blonde hair.

I am afraid that I don't have too much information coming out of today's event, but fans have said that it was cold outside, but "burning" inside, and since the first match the wrestlers gave it their all, and it was hard to choose just one person to be todays MVP.

MATCH ONE
Global Junior League 2020 (Block C)
Atsushi Kotoge vs Hitoshi Kumano
WINNER: Atsushi Kotoge with a standing powerbomb (10 minutes, 56 seconds)

MATCH TWO
The Anti Wrestlers Alliance (Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue) & Shiro Koshinaka vs 50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm) & Seiya Morohashi
WINNER: Shiro Koshinaka with a powerbomb on Seiya Morohashi (11 minutes, 55 seconds)

Akitoshi Saito tripped up Masao Inoue when he left the ring!

MATCH THREE
Global Junior League 2020 (Block A)
Yoshinari Ogawa vs Junta Miyawaki

To everyone's surprise (and probably Miyawaki's dismay), Yoshinari Ogawa actually turned up for the match, and in true Ogawa style immediately attacked Miyawaki's injured right shoulder. Despite this relentless attack by Ogawa, Miyawaki did manage to get in some shots, but ultimately Ogawa prevailed, making Miyawaki tap.

The match was said to be a blend of both the old and the new aesthetic wrestling styles in Noah.

WINNER: Yoshinari Ogawa with the Camel Clutch modification (8 minutes, 8 seconds)

MATCH FOUR
Kaito Kiyomiya, Shuhei Taniguchi, Tadasuke & HAYATA vs The Sugiura Army (Takashi Sugiura, El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jnr, Hajime Ohara & Kinya Okada)

Kinya Okada continues to gather momentum as it is felt that he has finally turned that corner. I don't know if he was being sarcastic to anyone today, or shocking his seniors by giving orders.

It is thought that given the Sugiura & Kiyomiya interaction today, Noah may be teasing Kiyomiya as the next challenger for the GHC National

HAYATA joined in with clapping on Tadasuke (which is rare).

WINNER: Kaito Kiyomiya with the Stretch Plum Facelock on Kinya Okada (17 minutes, 22 seconds)

MATCH FIVE
AXIZ (Go Shiozaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima) vs THE TOUGH\KONGOH (Masa Kitamiya & Yoshiki Inamura)

Katsuhiko Nakajima was announced as the new W-1 champion, but in true sarcastic Nakajima style, he didn't bring the belt with him.

Poor Yoshiki Inamura was once again subjected to the dreaded AXIZ kick\chop sandwich.

WINNER: Katsuhiko Nakajima with the Vertical Spike on Yoshiki Inamura (12 minutes, 34 seconds)

MATCH SIX
Naomichi Marufuji & STINGER (Kotaro Suzuki & Chris Ridgeway) vs KONGOH (Kenoh, Nioh and Haoh)

Naturally, Kenoh squared up to Naomichi Marufuji the moment he landed in the ring. Marufuji smirked at him, looking like a kind of version of Sugiura as he had his mouthguard clenched in his teeth. Kenoh did the usual no sell of the Kawada Kicks (which I am sure "the old man in the Ramen shop" appreciates)

WINNER: Kotaro Suzuki pins Hao with the Tiger Driver (15 minutes, 29 seconds)

MATCH SEVEN
Global Junior League 2020 (Block D)
Daisuke Harada vs Minoru Tanaka

Very important match for them as they have a rivalry (Tanaka is on Harada's list along with Ogawa, Ridgeway, Kotaro, Kotoge and Ohara as main enemies), they have both had wins over the other, but their last Global Junior League match came to a draw, sadly after a great match with a somewhat muted audience, it came to the same this year.

WINNER: Neither. Time out draw.
