(NOAH) EVENT RECAP ~ Global Junior League 2020. Kochi Cultural Plaza Karupato Small Hall, January 23RD

Noah arrived safely in Kochi after a seven hour journey. Atsushi Kotoge went for a run, and I think might have gotten a little lost as he had to ask for directions. At the venue, AXIZ and Kaito Kiyomiya took charge of the fanclub photo sessions, and AXIZ photobombed Kiyomiya by sneaking up on him and inserting themselves into the back of the picture of him with a fan (Nakajima looked a lot more awake than he did in a picture Ally took earlier).

Today's show is the last before Noah go to Osaka on Saturday, Saturday will decide the last four finalists, so a lot was resting on today's event. The show was sold out, with one fan saying that this was the first time they had been to see Noah in ten years.

I am afraid that I don't have too much information on today's show, so for some matches I have only been able to present only a line or two at most.

MATCH ONE
Global Junior League 2020 (B Block)
Kotaro Suzuki vs Haoh

"A stubborn father, and a crazy boy"

WINNER: Kotaro Suzuki with the Tiger Driver (9 minutes, 20 seconds)

MATCH TWO
50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm) & Junta Miyawaki vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Masa Kitamiya & Yoshiki Inamura)

Yoshiki Inamura stood with his arms crossed, watching 50 Funky Powers pull their pose.

WINNER: Masa Kitamiya with the Saito Suplex on Junta Miyawaki (9 minutes, 35 seconds)

MATCH THREE
Global Junior League 2020 (Block A)
HAYATA vs NOSAWA Rongai

NOSAWA decided he was going to get up to his usual tricks, but HAYATA realising that he was going for the easy victory in trying to keep him out of the ring by hitting him with a drop kick and then the Shining Wizard, decided to play him at his own game. Grabbing hold of him while NOSAWA attempted to get back into the ring, HAYATA held on to his leg and they both were counted out.

WINNER: Neither, double count out (6 minutes, 43 seconds)

Afterwards HAYATA stood with hands on hips and glared at NOSAWA before leaving. NOSAWA blamed the count out on the referee.
This now puts A block into a quandary as the winner of Yoshinari Ogawa vs HAYATA will go to the semi finals in Korakuen Hall, but if this comes to a draw then they will have a three way match...which no doubt will mean Ogawa and HAYATA will gang up on NOSAWA.

MATCH FOUR
AXIZ (Go Shiozaki vs Katsuhiko Nakajima) vs The Anti Wrestlers Alliance (Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue)

Poor Masao Inoue, attacked by Go Shiozaki and chopped, and then Nakajima had a go and kicked him around the ring. After taking 11 minutes of AXIZ, Inoue submitted to a move which isn't actually a submission, when he quit during Nakajima's soccer-ball kicks.
One fan put it, "Nakajima! How could you? That old man has gout!"

WINNER: Katsuhiko Nakajima when Masao Inoue submitted to the Soccer Ball Kicks (11 minutes, 23 seconds)

MATCH FIVE
STINGER (Yoshinari Ogawa, Atsushi Kotoge & Chris Ridgeway) vs RATELS (Daisuke Harada, Tadasuke & YO-HEY)

Daisuke Harada looked grimly at Chris Ridgeway, who he will face in the finale of their Global Junior League, in Osaka on Saturday 25th, when the two teams clashed today.

WINNER: Daisuke Harada via schoolboy pin on Chris Ridgeway (16 minutes, 58 seconds)

Afterwards, Harada said that he had repaid Ridgeway for what happened yesterday, and so roll on Osaka.

MATCH SIX
Global Junior League 2020 (Block D)
Minoru Tanaka vs Nioh

The former tag team partners faced off with Nioh jumping Tanaka during his entry. After a fierce fight, Nioh struck with the Michinoku Driver beta, Tanaka managed to kick out, but fell to the Cancun Tornado.

WINNER: Nioh with the Cancun Tornado (14 minutes, 24 seconds)

MATCH SEVEN
Naomichi Marufuji, Kaito Kiyomiya, Shuhei Taniguchi & Hitoshi Kumano vs The Sugiura Army (Takashi Sugiura, El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jnr, Dick Togo & Hajime Ohara)

Naomichi Marufuji (minus the mask and the "Dr Marufuji Jnr" persona) did some comedy with El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jnr.

WINNER: Kaito Kiyomiya with the Tiger Suplex on Hitoshi Kumano (15 minutes, 25 seconds)

After the match, Kaito Kiyomiya (as Go Shiozaki, the GHC Heavyweight champion, was not in the main event), spoke on the microphone and said that this was the first Kochi event of the year. He said that as he would like to go beyond any other group in Japan or indeed in the Pro Wrestling world. Afterwards, he went around the ring and met fans.
