(NOAH) Event recap ~ R-village PARTY -BATTLE LIVE SP vol.2 (17th February 2020)

Pro Wrestling Noah returned to Club Citta in Kawasaki for "R-village PARTY -BATTLE LIVE SP vol.2", which starred idol groups who would sing the wrestlers to the ring, although they didn't cover their normal theme music. Just like the boat race earlier in the year, events like these are aimed at introducing people to Noah and pro-wrestling, who normally wouldn't see it. This is the second year that Noah have held this event, and according to Noah's CEO Akihiro Takeda, they took the points from last year, improved on them to make today's event successful, and next time it will be even better. There were said to be more people here this year too.

The arena reminded some of the older fans of Differ; the dark arena and the walkway, if not the white ring with the yellow border which was set up today. After the event, the participants (except perhaps Kongoh), signed autographs.

Naomichi Marufuji (not wrestling due to having a knee operation) made a short speech before the event began alongside the club president, he said that "no matter what impression you had of wrestling, whether it was painful, barbaric; watching it today you will definitely like it".
He was right. Today's event was a lot of fun.

MATCH ONE
Tadasuke vs Junta Miyawaki

Tadasuke (like YO-HEY) a veteran of wrestling in clubs, (although perhaps clubs during his Dove Pro days which were a thousand miles away from the innocence of this one), made a grand entry today in sunglasses, a blue sparkly jacket and the singer of URAGAWAPROJECT on his shoulders. Tadasuke stole the show by doing a lap of the ring.

Junta Miyawaki's entry was a little less grand than Tadasuke's; he walked out on to the stage, raised his arms, bowed, and then ran off to the ring.

WINNER: Tadasuke via Swanton Bomb (9 minutes, 19 seconds)

MATCH TWO
RATELS (Daisuke Harada & YO-HEY) vs Kongoh (Haoh and Nioh)

HAYATA was originally meant to be in the match, but due to a rib injury, Daisuke Harada replaced him which may have been for the best as there was no way anyone (unless they got him very very drunk) was going to get him to wear the frilly pinafore of CoLoN, and do the cat pose like Harada and YO-HEY did. YO-HEY said prior to the event that he would be tagging with "Ironman Harada" because of "Wife's injury", but it didn't matter in RATELS they were "best friends".
Fortunately they didn't wrestle in the pinafores. This isn't Dove, where they probably would have done, or for that matter what YO-HEY can remember of Dove.
While Kongoh might have had a scowl for most of the event, Haoh was seen to crack up and laugh at Harada. Haoh was not going to be the last roster member to try and stifle his giggles that evening.
YO-HEY looked as if he loved every moment of it, and said that "Boss was erotic (pervert)", because of the apron flick in the ring!

WINNER: Daisuke Harada via Katayama German Suplex (14 minutes, 55 seconds)

MATCH THREE
El Hijo de Canis Lupus vs Dragon Bain

The lucha brothers also dressed up, albeit not as in such a crazy way as RATELS, by fusing Mexican Lucha and Japanese idol.

WINNER: El Hijo de Canis Lupus with Romero Special (11 minutes, 27 seconds)

MATCH FOUR
Kongoh (Takashi Sugiura & Hajime Ohara) vs Kaito Kiyomiya & Atsushi Kotoge

When he got into the ring, Hajime Ohara (overexcited hometown boy) decided to dance, and Kinya Okada, a member of the Sugiura Army who Sugiura still won't let be a full member, and a second that evening, decided to join in.
Takashi Sugiura who was looking on, and when I say "looking on", he was standing and watching Okada, and was not impressed.
Okada finished, and Sugiura kicked him in the ass, threw him out of the ring, and told him to watch it as Hajime Ohara danced in the background with X-BORDER.

Kaito Kiyomiya's entry involved bending down and headbanging to the music, oddly enough, Kotoge didn't really join in.

This was the end of any niceties in this match as Kiyomiya and Sugiura are fighting for a title, and their next pre-match was just as vicious as the first, and it ended with Kiyomiya on his back, and Sugiura curled up on all fours on the mat as it went to a time out draw.

WINNER: Time out draw between Takashi Sugiura & Kaito Kiyomiya (20 minutes)

MATCH FIVE
AXIZ (Go Shiozaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima) & Shuhei Taniguchi vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Masa Kitamiya, Yoshiki Inamura)

Prior to the event, AXIZ and Taniguchi held a dance rehearsal with the group who would be singing them to the ring, "Teen'sHeaven". There was a time when Go Shiozaki was too shy to do anything like this; he went bright red and was hesitant when 2 Cold Skorpio once offered him a simple arm shake, but he's gotten more confident at it over the years, probably starting when he was in DDT a couple of years ago, and had to team with Dino.

AXIZ and Taniguchi did a similar entry to the dance to "Hysteric" with Marufuji last year, but it was in the ring when the real comedy started as Shuhei Taniguchi decided to dance for AXIZ after Kenoh had tried to threaten them with his fist.
Kongoh were not impressed.
Katsuhiko Nakajima crouched on the bottom rope trying not to laugh, while Go Shiozaki (notorious for giggling) had to turn away as he was probably about to explode.

Kongoh had come stamping out one by one (Inamura dwarfing the idols who were singing them in), paying no attention and looking somewhat irritated as to what was going on around them. There were smiles backstage however when Yoshiki Inamura and Masa Kitamiya (who got a hug) posed for pictures with B2takes.

WINNER: Go Shiozaki with Gowan Lariat on Yoshiki Inamura (16 minutes, 12 seconds)

After the event (and before the roster except Kongoh went to sign autographs and pose for pictures), Go Shiozaki made a short speech to the crowd, while Katsuhiko Nakajima sat on the ring apron thanking everyone for coming, and asking if both the wrestling fans and the idol fans had enjoyed the pro wrestling today, and thanks to them the best place had been created.
