Despite the suspension of business for W-1, President Kaz Hayashi (46), made the final big match lead to a happy ending.

On the 15th at Ota Ward, he challenged for the W-1 championship, which had bled to Katsuhiko Nakajima (32). Just before the match he suffered a major injury that caused a ruptured bicep in his left leg, so he taped it up tightly and forced himself to appear.
Kaz, whose condition was inferior, suffered the bad behavior of the champion, and suffered to the end the kicks with outstanding destructive power. Still, after the chants of "Wrestle One" from the audience during the final stages of the match, he won the victory with the Power Plant.

After the match Kaz commented, "Because it was Katsuhiko Nakajima, I had to bring all of my might here, and even though he was rude in various ways I am grateful for it. As I wrap this belt around my waist, I can feel the weight of the successive champions."
Regarding the audiences "W-1 call" he said, "I am blessed to be a pro-wrestler. Wrestling is good." He added emotionally, "I think its the best competition."

However, he also announced that as of March 31st all the W-1 wrestlers would not be contracted to the promotion, and that unless the promotion resumes, the belt will stay in W-1."
Keiji Mutoh made a direct appeal for participation in the event at Korakuen Hall on April 1st stating that "we will discuss this together" promising that everyone will work as a team towards making the final event a success.
