On the 30th August, Noah held the GHC Tag Championship match at Kultz Kawasaki in Kanagawa. Takashi Sugiura (50), King Shame, and Kazushi Sakuraba (51) the IQ Wrestler, defeated the former champions AXIZ, the GHC Heavyweight Champion Go Shiozaki (38) and Katsuhiko Nakajima (32) and became the 54th champions.

It was a fight to the death. On the 20th at Korakuen Hall, Go Shiozaki was robbed of the win by being forced to submit to Sakuraba's 39 Locks (a modified chicken wing arm lock), the damage done to his left arm had forced him to fight at reduced capacity. Also, for The Sugiura Army, Sugiura had suffered a cut to his ear at Street Fight Club on the 25th at Korakuen and was bandaged.

When Nakajima hit Sugiura with a heavy kick, Shiozaki followed this up with a chop. However, with everything he did, Sakuraba demonstrated his joint technique on Shiozaki's arm, and proved tough enough to withstand the combined kick and chop.

Shiozaki fired off a powerful lariat and a moonsault, but Sugiura used the elbow at the keypoint and would not allow him to take the three. Sugiura finally won when the referee called a stop to the match by using the persistent front neck lock.

After the match, Kongoh led by the GHC National Champion Kenoh (35) intruded into the ring, and Kenoh made a challenge on behalf of Masa Kitamiya* and Manabu Soya. Nakajima, seeing this development attacked the half fainting Shiozaki, forcing him to stand and giving him a brainbuster and said afterwards, "You don't need me, right? I don't need you. From now on, I'm with Kongoh". Kaito Kiyomiya ran into the ring then, and rescued Shiozaki who was lying spreadeagled on his back.
Sugiura, who was forced to witness this massive drama said, "What is all this? We are the main characters, but we have got caught up in this strange lovers quarrel. Couldn't you get divorced some place else?".

Sakuraba, who has taken his first belt in pro wrestling, said with a big smile, "Thanks to Sugiura, I can endure a chop well..."

*I have changed this as Kenoh did not challenge for Yoshiki Inamura as the article states. Inamura did not come out with Kongoh, had he done, Kenoh would have probably challenged on behalf of THE TOUGH. Inamura did not appear with Kongoh and Nakajima afterwards. It is thought this is because of the match earlier in the evening when he took the oppositions finishers and so the challenge was changed at the last moment.
