The selection committee for the "2020 Pro Wrestling Awards", which was established by the Tokyo Sports Newspaper, which celebrated its 47th anniversary this year, was held online on the 14th, with The Best Tag Award with Takashi Sugiura (50 = Noah) and Kazushi Sakuraba (51 = freelancer), who hold the Noah GHC Tag Team Championship, winning for the first time with six teams nominated.

"Sugiura's stamina and Sakuraba's joint techniques, continue to go strong. I hope they will continue to play an active role next year and beyond." The activities of each unit were also evaluated, including the activties of the entire Sugiura Army that enlivened Noah's new system. They won the final vote over IWGP Tag Champions, Taichi (40) and Zak Saber Jnr (33).

The two humbly made their comments.
"Thanks go to Sakuraba for the award. I couldn't have gotten it alone" (Sugiura), "Thanks to Sugiura, I have received something great" (Sakuraba).

Sakuraba won the MVP in 2000 and Sugiura in 2010. Sakuraba said, "Do you want to take something in the next ten years..." Sugiura nodded, "Achievement Award..." in addition, Sugiura was pleased with the high evaluation of the unit itself, saying "Next year, we will have a monopoly on the belts".

When asked to recount an episode that illustrated the bond between the two, Sakuraba confessed, "The other day, we went drinking together." However, Sugiura said, "But he forgot his wallet. Even though I didn't have much money, he suggested "lets go to another bar", and he fell asleep". The next day when I said, "You fell asleep", he said "I enjoyed myself". I was irritated and said, "You just enjoyed my money". Sakuraba came back with, "We are good friends, right? When it comes to this, we won't break up until I get to treat."
This strange connection may be the secret of their strength.
