Pro Wrestling Noah will hold their Nippon Budokan event on February 12th 2021, for the first time in eleven years since December 5th, 2010. The event name is, "DESTINATION 2021 ~ BACK TO THE BUDOKAN". This is a big match that will influence Noah's "future" from now on.
GHC Heavyweight Champion, Go Shiozaki (39), the GHC National Champion Kenoh (36), and Katsuhiko Nakajima (32) who won the N-1 Victory last year have been chosen for interviews focusing on their "origin" and "future", which will be serialized. The second is Kenoh focusing on "Beyond The Budokan" (Interview by Takahiro Fukudome)

The Nippon Budokan was a sacred place for All Japan wrestling in the 1990s. Mitsuharu Misawa, Toshiaki Kawada, Akira Taue and Kenta Kobashi gathered together an overcrowded audience each time with the passive Four Heavenly Kings Wrestling, which exceeded imagination and was usually kicked out at 2.9 many times.
Noah's first Budokan event was on July 27th 2001, one year after the promotion had launched in August 2000. Since 2003, The Budokan has been transformed into Noah's "Sacred Place" by holding big matches more than four times a year, and in 2007, they held up to seven. However, NTV ended broadcast in March 2009 and when Misawa died suddenly during an accident during a match on 13th June, Noah quickly lost their drawing power, and had to leave "the sacred place" on December 5th 2010.

From then on, the ownership changed several times, and the survival of the promotion was in danger, which was far from a produce at The Budokan. In the midst of this hardship, Kenoh, who launched the rebel group "Kongoh" in May of last year, promised to return Noah to the Budokan, saying "I will take you there", and he has done it.

"It is the power of words. I think that is exactly what it means. Dreams come true by speaking them out. If I hadn't touted the Budokan, no one would ever have thought if it again, right? For the promotion, the big matches were at Korakuen. Maybe there would have been no Budokan this February if I hadn't said it."

Kenoh is proud, but in reality, the fact is that the promotion was acquired by major IT company, "CyberAgent" in February last year. The company has also newly established "CyberFight", which will operate DDT, Tokyo Joshi etc, which were already under the same umbrella. It can be said that the return to the Budokan has been realized only with the support of "CyberAgent".

However, Kenoh has denies this view.
"No matter how much the company has leapfrogged it, Pro Wrestling Noah's sanctuary of the Budokan, was not something I had in my head with the current company. They wouldn't have known about The Budokan, if I hadn't said it. By saying it, made them understand it. In the first place, the management of the current company do not know about Pro Wrestling Noah, and the sanctuary of The Budokan. They only know about it because I taught them it."

For both Kenoh and Noah, the Budokan is about win or lose.
After the match in which he defeated Kazushi Sakuraba and defended the GHC National Championship at the Yoyogi 2nd Gymnasium event, where the Budokan had been announced, Kenoh had foretold that "I will be in the main event". But, Keiji Mutoh, who is not part of the promotion, announced at the event to Go Shiozaki that he would challenge him at the Budokan, and as a result, the main event was taken by Mutoh.

"That was my only misreading. I thought the next challenger would come when Yoyogi was over, but I didn't think it would be the Budokan, I thought it would be around January in Korakuen. To name the Budokan is the hatefulness of Keiji Mutoh, I think currently in pro wrestling he is the only one who can specify the Budokan. That was my only mistake. I admit that it is the part where I tripped up."

How does he see the match between Shiozaki and Mutoh?

"I want The Budokan to succeed. I want them to have a match which makes the fuckers who come there think, "I want you to come back to The Budokan again". However, on top of that, "But in the end it was Kenoh. Kenoh was better than the main" I am going to have a fight to make you think that."

Kenoh will make his fifth defense match of the GHC National against Masakatsu Funaki at The Budokan.

"There are many guys who make this a goal, but this is just the starting point. Until now, big matches were organised at Korakuen. I will fight to change that. Watch the battle of the GHC at Pro Wrestling Noah, the Budokan will show a changing future."

The interview with Kenoh has finished. Next we will talk to Katsuhiko Nakajima about his origins.
