Noah held a press conference at a hotel in Tokyo on the 5th February ahead of the Tokyo Nippon Budokan event on the 12th.
GHC National Champion, Kenoh (36), will be challenged by Masakatsu Funaki (51) for his fifth defense. Kenoh said with strong emotion, "I have been saying this for three years now, now I am really hapy to be able to have a match at the Nippon Budokan." And at the Nippon Budokan event, the opponent will be Masakatsu Funaki. "I am really excited to be able to fight at the Nippon Budokan with the opponent who has continued to embody the "Professional wrestler who has equaled the strongest", which he has continued to embody. I'm insanely excited to be able to fight this opponent at the Nippon Budokan. I will defeat Masakatsu Funaki, and I will become the strongest professional wrestler".

At the pre match on January 31st, he was choked with the Hybrid Blaster's sleeper hold. Funaki sent some humiliating advice, "Honestly, today I didn't feel like losing. He (Kenoh) won't be able to do it unless he does his best I think.  If he does something out of the ordinary, its may be  because he's become flustered."
In response, Kenoh said "I can't finish like this. Is that crazy? It's not so. It's a small detail, but I am thinking of going step further in the match that I have cultivated during this interval. In the meantime, I want to pull him in and face him in my match." Finally he said, "Today's professional wrestling is on the entertainment route. Should the customers enjoy it? Is it victory or defeat? First of all, is it good to have a good match? That's not right. I will show my strength at The Nippon Budokan."
