In the 25th Daily Battle Awards as voted for by readers, Noah's Go Shiozaki (39), won his first MVP award.
Shiozaki was crowned the Noah GHC Heavyweight Champion in January of last year, and defended the belt for a year. In the votes on Nikkan.com, he won 67% of them, overtaking New Japan's Naito and others. His fierce match with Takashi Sugiura (December 6th, Yoyogi event), which lasted more than 50 minutes, was selected as the best match of the year, and therefore Shiozaki has won two categories.

Shiozaki succeeded in defending six times last year, he defeated the powerhouses and continued to reign at the top. In the match against Sugiura in December, he faced the opponents technique head on and had a strong match, saying "A straightforward fight is better than intricate workmanship" and "Always at full power. It tells Noah's battle." Compared to ten years ago, he has lost nearly 20kg in weight, and remodeled his body. The lariat that comes from the golden right arm, has enough power to easily fell the opponent in one go. He takes pride in saying, "There is no more than this. Training is solid."

On the 12th of February, for the first time in eleven years, Noah held an event at the sacred place, The Nippon Budokan. Although Shiozaki lost to 58 year old Keiji Mutoh in his seventh title defense, he is still in a position to lead this year, saying "I am confident that I fought an unbelievable fight. I went without stopping, even in a difficult situation due to Corona. It starts again from here."
Once again he sets out for his fifth title win.
