On February 4th, Jun Akiyama and Naomichi Marufuji, who will fight against the tag team of Kaito Kiyomiya & Yoshiki Inamura at Noah's 12th February Nippon Budokan event, had a conversation. When talking about the Budokan event for the first time in eleven years, the topic unexpectedly went to Shuhei Taniguchi.

Akiyama's first match with Kiyomiya was at Noah's Osaka event in September 2019. The highlight was that Kaito Kiyomiya, as the GHC Heavyweight Champion at the time, who had been showing a "new scenery", formed a trio with Keiji Mutoh and Akiyama, who is part of Noah's history. What kind of co-star would the young champion show with the two legends. However, even though Kiyomiya won with the Tiger Suplex Hold against Taniguchi in the match, he could not show his presence. For the person himself, it was a fight that will be described later, in which he couldn't do anything and the trauma remained.
The first thing Akiyama said was, "I didn't do anything" he said, dazed. Kiyomiya didn't say anymore, but I think Mutoh was also there, and that is bad for Taniguchi. It is bad because Taniguchi did his best." It was during that match that the "Taniguchi Volcano" exploded, and fought violently with Akiyama.
Marufuji, who was also in the match and in Taniguchi's corner said on reflection, "Rather than quietly watching what the company wanted to do, in that way it would have been better to have a manner with an emphasis. In Taniguchi's case, it is not constant, it's yes or no once a year. I wish he could always sustain it".
Akiyama also said, "I sometimes do live streaming on Twitter, and everyone is worried about Taniguchi. Kobashi is also under pressure now, right? But I don't think it's good to expect too much, because he will get stubborn."
"Wouldn't it be nice if he could have more fun with Pro Wrestling, but there is no time when he seems to be fun. The same is true in the waiting room, it's the same during practice, and when there is a match it seems to be extra. Why I am talking about Taniguchi, I don't know, but there is an opportunity to enjoy him if you can find it, and he may be lively and without a care (rough). After all, he is older than me."

Taniguchi inherited the Half Nelson Suplex after being publicly scolded by Kobashi on the Noah official YouTube in a video released on January 30th. Pro wrestling fans are talking about the funky "Taniguchi dance" from Yokohama on January 16th.

At the Noah Budokan event on the 12th February, which will be the first time in eleven years, Taniguchi will team up with Mohammed Yone to wrestle DRAGON GATE'S Masaaki Mochizuki, and ZERO1's Masato Tanaka. It will be interesting to see if the match can meet the expectations of the wrestlers who represent the industry; Kobashi, Akiyama and Marufuji.
