At what time and what form will the "Anti Wrestlers Alliance" born in 1992, be revived?
"Anti Wrestlers Alliance". Many people were excited by the unit that was born in New Japan by Shiro Koshinaba, Kuniaki Kobayashi, Kengo Kimura, Masashi Aoyagi and Akitoshi Saito. The following year, in 1993, the number of members increased and their name was changed to Heisei Ishingun. At the time of their inauguration, fans were on the lookout for trademark crudeness, but they showed a single minded unrefined fight. They gradually and steadily gained popularity, and developed into a major force. Not only did they clash with the main units in New Japan, they played an active role making them more than just a unit, such as holding their own produce, and the fan approval rating was high. However, then the brunt of their main team headed to UWF International and NWO Japan, its presence gradually faded and they disbanded in 1999. The members splintered into their own separate fights.
However, the impact left was great. There are wrestlers who shave their heads, their eyebrows and wear martial arts uniforms. The unit has been popular even after their split, due to the performance of waving the over-sized "Victory" flag, and many revival matches have been held.
It was the original members, Akitoshi Saito and Masao Inoue, who made the new martial arts uniforms as the origin of the "Anti Wrestlers Alliance" in Reiwa. Running wild on the Noah mat, Koshinaka and others sometimes participated. However, at the Korakuen Hall event on March 21st, the Reiwa version of the Anti Wrestlers Alliance, were forced into termination. Saito and Inoue were defeated in the "Losing Unit Absorption Match" by "Funky Express" Mohammed Yone and Shuhei Taniguchi, who literally dance in a "funky" fashion. If anything, Taniguchi, (who leant more towards The Anti Wrestlers Association), has been transformed into "Tani", which is the extreme opposite of the martial arts uniforms worn by Inoue and Saito.
It was Inoue who lost the fall to Taniguchi's "Funky Press" (diving body press), after a series of to and fro. This then meant that the Anti Wrestlers Association, was absorbed by Funky Express. The Anti-Wrestlers Association, which had built in era in the history of pro wrestling in Heisei, has vanished, but Saito has gracefully accepted joining the unit saying, "As I promised, I will be funky". Saito will now transform into a funky figure by taking off the martial arts uniform he was been wearing for 30 years, but will there be one last farewell to the "Victory" flag.
Saito said, "During Corona, there have been fans who have supported The Anti Wrestlers Alliance. I have made promises to them, and so I will fulfill it, and continue to do so. I will do something."
Even in becoming "funky", he will never forget the soul of the Anti Wrestlers Alliance.
At this time, I can't imaging how the Anti Wrestlers Association will be revived, but I am worried about the rekindling of that rebellious spirit.
