(NOAH) "Voyage", behind the lyrics of Noah's Budokan theme song

Noah announced that for their big return to The Budokan, they would be commissioning a special theme song from musician/producer, Funky Kato. To most Noah fans, Kato started off on guest commentary after coming to Noah's attention after uploading a video of himself doing Misawa's rolling elbow. Kato is a big wrestling fan, and he said he was amazed that his hobby led to such an opportunity. He also knew Mitsuharu Misawa, who he did an interview with once.

The lyrics themselves roughly tell the story of Noah's twenty-one year history while combining Noah's fighting spirit. The singer is in The Budokan, tears in his eyes and sad for Noah that they are not at The Budokan at that point. He can hear the sounds of an event starting with a bell chiming as he looks up at the glass roof above the Japanese flag. He starts to tell the story of Noah's journey through the "endless sea" that the Ark sails on, Misawa creating it for people to wrestle how they wanted, and thus it raised the sail and began the voyage.

Please note that although I have tried to present them in a way that English speakers can understand, some things do not translate well, and others do not translate at all.

"Where the eastern sky is steeped in light
Can you hear the chimes of the bell that announces the beginning?
Tears wash away good visibility
Holding sadness for our promised place

The endless sea before me is freedom
Strong beliefs will be the wind
Let's raise the sail

Running, falling, scattering and still standing
Climbing, grasping and going beyond that - I just want to meet you
The treasure map that is my heart spreads further

It is safe to moor in the harbor, but that is not the reason why the ship was born
You who decided the limit of possibility, cannot do what you want*
Falling many times from the cliff, like a pirate experiencing punishment*
But unless you loosen your fist, our young will continue*

Be proud of the part of the dream you are looking up at
Anxiety about making mistakes (rough. Original lyric does not translate)
Kick it off with hope

For whom accepts a painful struggle and still fights
Engage and protect I never knew one person possesses such power
Even in the stifled era, the silent voices arrive forever

Running, falling, scattering and still standing
Climbing, grasping and going beyond that - I just want to meet you
The treasure map that is my heart spreads further

The emerald is smiling on the surface of the water
Let's move forward to the future."

"Cannot do what you want" In a recent interview, Kato said he would include a secret that only Noah fans would understand. The secret turned out to be the line Mitsuharu Misawa shot at Shinya Hashimoto when ZERO1 was warring with Noah during the early days of the promotion.

*Original lyric was "to eat an iron hammer", there is no translation or equivalent in English, but it does mean roughly to be punished or sanctioned.

*Noah's young will continue to fight against adversity and they are not going to give up, they won't want to fight you if you don't give back to them. The only way is to be stern.
