(NOAH) Kenoh glares "Kojima's expiration date" expired, Kojima all smiles "Adding color to Mutoh" - signing ceremony for the Budokan GHC Match

17th June 2022
Pro Wrestling DX

KENOH: In Noah's ring now, isn't it a ring where out-of-season wrestlers and old man wrestlers, play an active role? In New Japan, where Satoshi Kojima was a stepping stone for young people, came to Noah's ring and showed his sleeping potential, and became the GHC Heavyweight Champion. Doing this with out of season old man wrestles growing and growing like this, you can't see Noah's future at all, right? In order to open up the future of Noah, I will stake my life to take this belt from Satoshi Kojima, whose expiration date has expired.
KOJIMA: It's been a month and a half since I came to Pro Wrestling Noah, time flies. Each day has been meaningful, and I am spending time well*. This time I have got the championship belt, and now Kenoh has come to the defense match, which is a very exciting development. My personal motto is to do pro wrestling brightly, cheerfully and happily. I want to defend.
Q: What is your impression of Kojima?
KENOH: Impression of Kojima? Best-before-date wrestler. Satoshi Kojima is already an expiration-date wrestler. However, he is not barely over the expiration date and that is why he managed to defeat the strong Go Shiozaki with a single lariat. However, Satoshi Kojima, has expired. He doesn't taste good at all. Are his matches interesting? He's completely different from the Satoshi Kojima I saw when I was a kid. Let's go, stupid? I have heard the same thing so many times. He's not delicious at all. However, it seems like he hasn't totally expired yet, so that is why at the Nippon Budokan, I am going to terminate your expiration date.
Q: What do you think when listening to Kenoh's words?
KOJIMA: He started Nippon Kempo when he was three years old*, won numerous championships, was scouted by Jinsei Shinzaki, joined Michinoku Pro and then joined Pro Wrestling Noah in 2015 with that track record. And in 2017 he became GHC Heavyweight Champion, and has arrived at the present day. This amazing Kenoh, I want this amazing Kenoh, who doesn't know the setbacks, to experience them for the first time.
Q: The stage is the Nippon Budokan. Kenoh, you said your dream is to keep aiming for the Budokan and to stand in the main?
KENOH: Standing in the main of the Nippon Budokan. Well, it might be one dream, but what I have said before? It is to be the last entry in the main of the Nippon Budokan*. That is my true dream. The Nippon Budokan in July, this is just a passing point. Take the belt from Satoshi Kojima, and on January 1st, my birthday, I will be the last to enter the Nippon Budokan event. The title match in July will make that dream come true.
Q: What will be the situation of the title at the Budokan, where the retirement road of Mutoh, your New Japan senior*, begins?
KOJIMA: I am really surprised and honestly I am shocked that Mutoh is retiring, but in order to add color to Mutoh, I want fans to watch my pro wrestling to the fullest. July 16th is also the anniversary of my debut, it will be my 32nd anniversary, and so including that I definitely want to win.

Notes
*Kojima is using highly business like respectful language which does not translate well.
*Traditional age for starting any skill i.e. martial arts, dancing, music
*Kenoh means to walk into the match as champion.
*Japanese word used was "Aniki", which means an older man with whom you have a respectful relationship with (not as formal as a senior, but still along those lines). There is no equivalent in English.
